ISIS – Orlando and Paris

Once more crazed brainwashed psychopaths kill innocent people in the name of God.

It leaves me thinking a bundles of things:

Firstly great sadness for the people involved – the traumatised people who were caught up in it, the poor terrified child of the murdered police officer and his wife, the terrified and wounded, and the parents and relatives whose lives will never be the same again.

I can’t imagine the horror of losing one of mine.

The great sickness that convinces people that they are carrying out the instructions of some supernatural being by killing innocent people.

The sickness that convinces anyone that there is only one true way to believe and live.

The arrogance, mindlessness and waste of a life spent in brainless worship.

The stupidity of people. I walk past people dressed in all manner of weird clothes and hairstyles, fasting, eating certain foods, avoiding certain foods, and carrying out all fashion of prayers and ceremonies because they believe ‘their’ God has demanded it. It looks insane to me. What has any of that got to do with some creator? Why would any sane god make such demands or choose one set of people over another? Senseless.

Yet these insane people who carry out atrocities believe that by killing innocent people, who just happen to believe or live differently to them, they will wake up in paradise. There is no end to the way people delude themselves.

These murderers have lost their compassion and humanity. They are so wrong. No sane god would reward brutality.

My best wishes go out to the families and friends of the murdered people in Orlando, Paris, Belgium, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Nigeria, Libya, Sudan, Egypt and wherever these religious fanatics have wrought their evil.

It makes me wish there were a god to punish those evil perpetrators. As there isn’t we shall have to do it ourselves. I salute the people who are working hard on intelligence work to keep us safe and the police and army who are protecting us.

My wish is that one day soon humanity might wake up from this primitive superstition and become civilised. We need to leave religion behind in the dark ages and progress into a higher kind of spirituality.

Poetry – Trumped – a poem about populist simplicity and the dangers it creates.

Trumped

We are beset by a huge number of problems. The collapse in the world economy has created misery in its wake. Those in power have chosen to impose austerity on the poor while unleashing the rich in the hopes they might generate wealth.

We have war, fundamentalism, environmental destruction, species eradication, mass poverty, mass migration, terrorism, poaching, pollution, disease, sexism, religious ferment, homophobia and racism.

Some choose to exploit this with sloganeering simplicity and populist propaganda. If only it was that simple.

Do not worry.

I will solve all your problems.

I will build a wall.

I will ban all minorities from breathing our air.

I will destroy all who oppose us.

I will stand up to Putin and the communist threat.

I will unleash a war on terror.

I will wipe out all terrorists, ISIS, Boko Haram, the Taliban.

I will stop migration.

I will not give a damn about anyone else outside of this country.

I will isolate us from the problems of the world.

I will lock up the gangs, criminals and wrongdoers.

I will stop any other religion coming in.

I will keep our country pure.

I will make us great again!!!

What we need is strong leadership!! More walls!!! More bans!!! More balls!!! More Wars!!! More trade restrictions!! Less care!! Less tolerance!!! And less pussy-footing about!!

Poetry – There was a boy – a poem about terrorism

51K9Up4uCYL__SX331_BO1,204,203,200_

There was a boy

The news was reporting that Boko Haram were using young boys and girls as suicide bombers.

Like paedophiles they groom their innocent children victims, feeding them lies.

They point to the people who they claim are evil. These people believe differently. They are heretics, apostates and loathed by god. They are thoroughly loathsome. The Koran states that the unbelievers should be killed.

Allah demands that they should be punished for their crimes of belief.

They were required to do Allah’s will.

They would open their eyes in paradise.

They are not trusted with the button.

The man in the shadows presses the button, watches the outcome, and smiles as the nails and bolts fly among the organs, tissues and limbs.

There was a boy

There was a young boy

With a bomb

Strapped to his chest.

In the shadows

Stands a man

With a button.

All because of what

Is believed

And why?

They are waiting

For the innocents

To gather.

Hate and lies

Prejudice

And fury.

All in the pressing of a button.

Brussels – All you need is love

IMG_1068

It seems an age ago that we back in the sixties and there was hope.

The world was not a place of butchery and hatred where young people were willing to blow themselves to pieces.

Love was the message.

Young people trekked out across the planet exporting their smiles. Friendship and sharing were the mantra, equality and freedom was the ethos.

The only blot on the landscape was the war in Vietnam.

That world seems so innocent now. But it was love that made it possible. If you meet someone as an equal with a smile and respect you make contact.

Somehow the radicalised young Muslims have been talked into hatred. They feel ostracised from society and have grown to despise it. Gone are the days that all the world wore flares. We are fractured.

It is time to heal.

You do not cure hatred with more hate.

The Beatles have been rather neglected and denigrated of late. They were the greatest band ever because of their genius and adventurousness. They were at the forefront of the sixties culture and they had a knack of summing things up.

All You Need Is Love

Love, love, love
Love, love, love
Love, love, love

There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done
Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It’s easy

Nothing you can make that can’t be made
No one you can save that can’t be saved
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time
It’s easy

All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

Love, love, love
Love, love, love
Love, love, love

All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

Nothing you can know that isn’t known
Nothing you can see that isn’t shown
Nowhere you can be that isn’t where you’re meant to be
It’s easy

All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

All you need is love (All together, now!)
All you need is love (Everybody!)
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need
Love is all you need (Love is all you need)
Love is all you need (Love is all you need)
Love is all you need (Love is all you need)
Love is all you need (Love is all you need)
Love is all you need (Love is all you need)
Love is all you need (Love is all you need)
Love is all you need (Love is all you need)
Love is all you need (Love is all you need)
Love is all you need (Love is all you need)
Love is all you need (Love is all you need)
Love is all you need (Love is all you need)

ISIS Savages in Belgium

Once again the twisted fundamentalist ideology has created terror. Religious fundamentalists from the Dark Ages wage their senseless war against the twenty first century.

They want to take us back in time to the intolerant cruelty of a thousand three hundred years ago.

They believe they are doing god’s will.

They are indoctrinated fools.

They believe they will wake up in heaven as holy martyrs. They are mistaken. They will never wake up. All they have achieved is to waste life.

Life is precious.

I affirm life not death. Their doctrine is disgusting. It should be opposed by every means possible. Fundamentalism, in whatever form, is a disease.

George Harrison – Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth) – a song for the fundamentalists.

I thought this was appropriate to both the terrorists and governments!

I can’t help thinking that you don’t solve fascism with bombs. You have to tackle the root causes – Inequality, intolerance, poverty, fundamentalism, war and unemployment.

“Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)”

Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope, with this heavy load
Trying to, touch and reach you with,
heart and soul

PLEASE take hold of my hand, that
I might understand you

Won’t you please
Oh won’t you

Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope, with this heavy load
Trying to, touch and reach you with,

Poetry – Music is no good – a poem about freedom

IMG_0501

Music is no good

I am happy if anyone else wants to live in the seventh century. I am happy for them to live in whatever costume they like and to apply their own laws as long as I am free to have my say, and that they don’t indoctrinate children, or practice inequality and intolerance.

I despise the blind hatred and psychopathy that is fundamentalism.

I want to live in peace and harmony without constraint.

If there was a god who sanctioned rape, torture and ritual slaughter then I would be forced to oppose him.

This universe is too awesome to have been created by a psychopathic deity.

I love this world – its colour, life and beauty. I love literature, art, poetry, dance, drama and music. I love diversity, love, friendship and fun. I am an individual. I will not be bound, shackled or made to follow any doctrine not of my choice.

I love life.

I do not love death.

Music is no good

Music is no good

Science is no good

Thinking is no good

What is wrong with being free?

Women are no good

Freedom is no good

Dance is no good

What is wrong with freedom?

Film is no good

Other religion is no good

Fun is no good

I will fight to be free.

Love is no good

Individuality is no good

TV is no good

Freedom is a cherished belief.

When good is no good there is a cause.

France, Paris and Terrorism – A response.

france-flag

The terrorist attacks in Paris are in line with the Islamic doctrine of fundamentalism that pervades in ISIS. Their views are extreme. They believe that all the doctrine of Mohamed has to be taken literally. The wish to return to the exact dogma of the seventh century, institute Sharia law, and practice Takfir. Takfir is a stringent application of apostasy that states all Muslims who have different views of that medieval version of Islam should be slaughtered or used as sex slaves, all infidels – kuffars – unbelievers should be converted, slaughtered or, in the case of Christians, subjugated. They wish to impose Sharia Law and bring about the Apocalypse.

There is nothing moral or tolerant about this doctrine. It is not rational or open to moderation.

Most religious people, including Muslims, are not fundamentalists. They do not take every word literally. They apply morality and rational thought to the words. Christians no longer believe they have to smash babies heads against rocks. Most Muslims do not believe they have to wear medieval costume.

I do not believe there is a god, afterlife or that any holy book is holy. I do not want sharia law imposed on me.

I stand with the people of Paris against the inhumanity of terrorism. Against those who wish to force their views on us. Their doctrine is pernicious.

I believe:

  • Religion is the cause of much evil
  • People should be tolerant of each other
  • We should look after this world
  • We should protect wilderness, forests and wild-life
  • We should educate everyone
  • We should insist on equality
  • We should be prepared to struggle for freedom
  • We have to stand up for what we believe
  • War creates hatred
  • ISIS should be defeated by exposing its cruelty, intolerance, and psychopathy.
  • ISIS should be defeated by starving it of funds.
  • ISIS should be defeated by educating people against all aspects of fundamentalism.

ISIS and all religious fundamentalism hates tolerance, equality and freedom. I am opposed to all they stand for.

I want to live in a world of love, harmony, democracy and peace where all people and all plant and animal life are respected.

I want a positive Zeitgeist.

Terror and Total War – The theory and Practice still put to use today by ISIL.

IMG_1330

There is nothing new about the use of terror as a weapon of war.

Alexander the Great used the tactics in his war with the against the Persians, way back in 332 BC. He was so furious at the way the fortified island city of Tyre held out against him, forcing him to waste much time and energy to defeat them, (it took months and he had to construct a causeway out to the island in order to capture the city) that he made an example of them. His idea was that everyone else should see what happened to people who resisted him.

He destroyed the city. Sold 30,000 into slavery and massacred 8,000 civilians. He had them crucified on the beach for everyone to see.

The message soon got round. Many came over to his side to escape his wrath and people were terrified to stand against him.

We can see the same tactics being used by ISIL. Nowadays they use social media to show mass beheadings, people locked in cars and blown up with rocket launchers, underwater film of people being drowned as they are slowly lowered into the water, people have their heads blown off with plastic explosive, being buried alive, thrown off high building, slowly crushed and people being burnt alive in cages. It is barbaric and gruesome, cruel, heartless and callous (and all in the supposed name of religion!) but, in the short  term it is highly effective.

As with Alexander the Great it sends terror into the hearts of the enemy. Despite the fact that the Iraqi troops far outnumbered the ISIL troops ISIL have been able to take places like Palmira. The Iraqi troops were so terrified at the thought of what would happen to them if they were caught that they ran away.

In the long term it will lead to the utter annihilation of ISIL. The revulsion for their tactics will unite civilised people in opposing them. Even pacifist like myself are so repulsed by their primitive inhumanity that they want them, and their intolerant savage doctrine, eradicated. People will soon recognise that ISIL is not driven by religious conviction so much as megalomania and animalistic blood-lust. Their Jihadists are in it for the sex and excitement, the religious fervour is a sham.

Terror gives short-term advantage and a long-term heavy reckoning. ISIL’s days are numbered. The whole world has had enough of their evil.

Inequality – The factor that fuels discontent, hatred and terrorism.

tortured cover

While a tiny minority in the West live in opulence billions of others around the world live in squalor, poverty and despair.

This inequality is what is fuelling terrorism, mass migration and hatred.

It needs addressing.

When you have nothing you have nothing to lose. When there are no jobs and no hope what is there to look forward to? When your children are dying of disease and malnutrition while others are indulging in undreamt-of extravagance it must fill you with hatred.

People who are desperate turn to fanatical religions, extreme politics, mass migration, war and are traumatised by their experience. To them horrendous death is a daily occurrence. Why not?

The average income of the top FTSE 100 executives in Britain is £14,000,000

The average income in Britain is £27,000

A top executive earns 183 times the income of the average worker.

Some executives are earning in excess of £14,000,000 (How many lottery wins is that a year?)

A miner working at the coal-face, covered in coal-dust at temperatures of 38 degrees will earn £40,000 (And are worth every penny of it).

A registered nurse will start at £21,500 (And should be paid double).

In China the average yearly income is £3210.

In Zimbabwe the average yearly income is only £1,950.

The two richest people in the world (Bill Gates – worth $79,000,000,000 and Carlos Slim Helu – worth $77,000,000,000) are worth more than entire countries. It is my contention that nobody could ‘earn’ that sort of wealth. They have accrued that by exploiting others.

It is my belief that until this inequality within Britain and all around the world is addressed we will have war, terrorism, mass migration and hatred. If you stop and think about the consequences of this exploitation it is unacceptable. What would you say to the mother who has just buried her baby?

Accruing huge wealth is a sickness. Inequality is a disease.
