Chris Ridell cartoonist. The Covid-19 virus – it isn’t over yet.

He’s right – this isn’t over by a long chalk.

We’ve probably got months of the virus yet!

That will be thousands of deaths!

There might be mutations!

There are the antivaxxers undermining herd immunity!

There’s Trump, Bolsonaro and Johnson!

Then it’s all going to have to be paid for and who do you think is going to pick up that tab?? You guessed it!!

Poetry – Cuts, Cuts, Cuts and More Cuts

Cuts, Cuts, Cuts and More Cuts

Health and education

Are looking mighty ripe.

Tories eye up the situation.

Unions may whinge and gripe.

While the government

Splash the cash to chums.

Those in public services

Know the reaper comes.

The bankers make a killing

Their profits rise and rise.

One man twenty one million

Just falling from the skies.

Phoney PPI and equipment

At inflated prices.

As friends of the Tories

Make fortunes out of crisis.

Morality does not exist

When there’s money to be made.

With bullying and dodgy deals

Their devious schemes are laid.

Tories apply their ideology

Without any ifs or buts.

Public servants know what that means

Cuts, cuts, cuts and more cuts.

Opher – 21.11.2020

So once again it is clear – it’s the poor who will pay for covid – just as it was the poor who paid for the bankers mistakes.

Are the wealthy being squeezed?? NO!!

Are the bonuses being reduced?? NO!!

Are the profits being reduced?? NO!!

Are the companies being taxed?? NO!!

No. No. No. No.

Some people, including people in government, like Rees-Mogg, are making a killing out of all this. They are laughing all the way to the bank. A lot of the people who have poured cash into the Tory party have made a fortune as contracts have been flooding their way – no tendering, no checks, inflated prices accepted without question, no quality control.

We’ll be paying for Brexit too!!

The dice are loaded!!

Clapped one week, crapped on the next!!

Key workers my arse!!

A Political song about Tory policy.

Cuts Cuts Cuts Cuts

Take from the poor and give to the rich

Cuts Cuts Cuts Cuts

Leave them naked without a stitch

Cuts Cuts Cuts Cuts

Take from the schools the NHS too

Cuts Cuts Cuts Cuts

Who needs those when private will do?

Cuts Cuts Cuts Cuts

The social care we’ll slash to bits

Cuts Cuts Cuts Cuts

Disabled and elderly can stew in their pits

Cuts Cuts Cuts Cuts

For the rich need the lot, they really do

Cuts Cuts Cuts Cuts

They’re worth it you see – unlike you!

Austerity doesn’t work – no debt paid off – huge inequality!!

austerity-isnt-working-steve-bell Osborne-stone-Routledge-cartoon

Austerity and the unfairness of how it works.

The rich get richer and the poor get squashed. Public services get smashed and the rich use their private services to gain even more advantage.

Austerity favours the establishment.

Too many people on the poverty line requiring food banks, on zero hours contracts and being used as cheap labour by the rich.

When people get paid so little the taxes go down and the national debt gets even bigger.

The unfairness of tax cuts for the rich while the poor suffer pay cuts.

Too many bankers bonuses, rich-cats pay rises while the Public Sector is annihilated due to pure Tory dogma.

What sort of divided society are we creating? It stinks!!

When people are abused so much, when inequality reaches a peak, they spontaneously rise up and smash the system. We nearly saw it with the riots of a few years back. We’re storing trouble for the future.

The Tories and the bankers run a pretty shady business of looking after their rich buddies and toffs. Austerity was a great excuse.
