Shaky Theresa May – Mrs Wibbly Wobbly – is running scared.

Me thinks the public are sick to death with the Tories and their destruction of our public services under the guise of austerity. It is always the same. Pure dogma. They hate public services – bring in all manner of costly distracting gimmicks – religious schools, free schools, academies, grammar schools – to distract. What they are really doing is robbing them of funds to give to the rich in tax cuts.

People are seeing through Theresa May as a ‘tough’ woman. She is shaky and he belligerence doesn’t cover it up. The lady of the U-turns is now running scared.

Resorting to personal abuse and fear is a sure sign of panic. She’s lost the argument. Now the Nasty Party shows its real face.

If you want to protect the NHS, Schools and Care for the Disabled and Elderly get out there and vote.

Economic facts to consider – I believe there is an election looming! Why I vote Labour.

I am presently reading Owen Jones fascinating book – Chavs. I was immediately taken by a few facts from the preface which I believe are relevant.

  • In 2011 living standards for the average Briton declined at the fastest rate since the 1920s.
  • In the same 2011 boardroom pay for Britain’s top one hundred companies soared by 49% (The previous year it had soared by a staggering 55%).
  • The wealth of Britain’s richest 1000 increased by 20% after leaping up by 30% the previous year.
  • The claim by Cameron and Osborn that we are ‘All in this together’ is both ludicrous and offensive.
  • The poor suffer a triple whammy of benefit, services and support cuts
  • The result is food banks, zero hours exploitation and return of childhood illnesses associated with severe poverty
  • The record of this coalition government is the worst poverty record of any government for a generation.

The mantra of austerity is has been an excuse to bring in huge swathes of Tory dogma driven ideology that favour the rich and greatly reduce public services.

It is obvious to me that if you wish to reduce debt you cut the excess bureaucracy and glitz and leave the essentials. You do not bring in great change because all change costs money.

This government, despite having no mandate, has brought in huge dogma driven change that is immensely disruptive and costly. Under the guise of improving and austerity they have cut to the bone and created demoralisation and disarray thus reducing effective opposition.

Their cuts and low pay exploitation have resulted in tax reductions so we are still borrowing at an even greater rate and the debt is not paid off.

The alternative is to trim with realistic cuts. Not bring in huge changes and to stimulate growth. Growth pays off the debt! It is not rocket science.

Who has benefitted? – the rich

who have been shafted? The poor and public services

That’s the nasty party.

And you tell me your vote does not count – they’re all as bad as each other?

I trust none of them. They are politicians. Labour has done some stupid things – but the nasty party are cynical, clinical and ruthless.

It’s the lesser of two evils for me! I believe in fairness and justice

Austerity doesn’t work – no debt paid off – huge inequality!!

austerity-isnt-working-steve-bell Osborne-stone-Routledge-cartoon

Austerity and the unfairness of how it works.

The rich get richer and the poor get squashed. Public services get smashed and the rich use their private services to gain even more advantage.

Austerity favours the establishment.

Too many people on the poverty line requiring food banks, on zero hours contracts and being used as cheap labour by the rich.

When people get paid so little the taxes go down and the national debt gets even bigger.

The unfairness of tax cuts for the rich while the poor suffer pay cuts.

Too many bankers bonuses, rich-cats pay rises while the Public Sector is annihilated due to pure Tory dogma.

What sort of divided society are we creating? It stinks!!

When people are abused so much, when inequality reaches a peak, they spontaneously rise up and smash the system. We nearly saw it with the riots of a few years back. We’re storing trouble for the future.

The Tories and the bankers run a pretty shady business of looking after their rich buddies and toffs. Austerity was a great excuse.

AUSTERITY DOES NOT WORK!!!

Free Schools – another daft political idea!! Keep politicians out of education!!

Free-schools_2085870c

Set up your own free school!!  It’s easy!!  Any fool can do it and they do!!

  • The Creationists can’t wait to get their hands on our kids. They’ll pump money in.
  • The Faiths can’t wait to start INDOCTRINATING our children. They’ll pump money in and they achieve such good standards. But doesn’t anybody wonder why we have ISIS, sectarian hatred, school-kids heading for Syria and cultural ghettos? Could it possibly be segregation? And we want to encourage that? Well I don’t!
  • You don’t need training or qualified teachers – just enthusiasm. Bollocks! Teaching is one of the hardest jobs on earth. Why do the politicians think any fool can do it?
  • They are not subject to the National Curriculum and other initiatives. What? I thought these things were meant to raise standards? If they are essential for State schools they should be for Free Schools – what a nonsense!
  • Schools with falling numbers can set up as Free Schools. What idiocy. It does not make economic sense. The Local Education Authority is best placed to assess how many schools are required and where. They may not always get it right but it makes more sense than parent power deciding. In times of austerity with limited funds hard decisions have to be made. Some schools have to be shut. The LEA should decide based on facts not parents based on emotion.
  • It costs a fortune to set up Free Schools and that money is being siphoned off from mainstream schools. All our State schools are suffering as a result.
  • Free schools are an expensive gimmick to win votes. What a farce!

Read what a highly successful ex-Secondary Headteacher has to say. I’m the only one making sense!

Tory Plans for Schools – Privatisation and exam factories!

assembly-lc4b1ne-learning-tg-ver PublicSchools

The Tory plans for education are  – MORE OF THE SAME!!

They plan on privatising schools by creating failure and forcibly putting them in the hands of profit making syndicates of academies with vested interests (either religious bigotry or profit from kids).

They plan on force-feeding the kids to create factories of despair and failure.

Seemingly all that matters are the ones who can make the grade. The rest can be jettisoned down the big chute to the land of perpetual failure where they can be castigated and pilloried as being worthless.

Exams are important but only to a degree. Yes they can get you into higher education and a career. But there is a lot more to life and education than that!

Where is the room for creativity? Isn’t this the strength of our nation? Aren’t we master designers, inventors and creators? You don’t get that from force-feeding facts.

Where’s the social empathy? Or are we looking for a generation of uncaring psychopaths who will naturally be Tory voters? I think I prefer to live in a supportive, caring society with people who are happy and fulfilled.

Where is the education of the Whole Child? It’s being sacrificed on Tory dogma – where all that matters is the elite, the Public Schools and the rest of us are dross, plebs and cretins to be fed through the machine.

Meanwhile the pressure on teachers grows, the best leave and the system decays!

Heaven help us! We are being ruled by conniving idiots!
