Palantir Technologies, the secretive data analytics company has operated at the centre of heated debates about technology, privacy, and government power since its founding. Known for its work with intelligence agencies, military operations, and law enforcement, Palantir’s AI-driven platforms—Gotham, Foundry, and AIP—have drawn fierce criticism from privacy advocates, civil liberties groups, and even some of its own employees.
This comprehensive analysis examines the most significant controversies surrounding Palantir, including mass surveillance operations, military applications, ethical concerns about AI deployment, and internal workplace issues.
Palantir’s technology has become deeply embedded in government surveillance operations worldwide, raising fundamental questions about privacy rights and democratic oversight.
The 2013 Edward Snowden revelations exposed the NSA’s extensive PRISM surveillance program, which collected data from major tech companies including Google, Facebook, Apple, and Microsoft without user consent. While Palantir officially denied direct involvement in PRISM, leaked documents suggested the company’s software was used to analyse the massive volumes of surveillance data collected through the program. This connection positioned Palantir as a key player in one of the most controversial government surveillance operations in U.S. history.
Palantir’s FALCON system became a cornerstone of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations, enabling the agency to track and process deportations with unprecedented efficiency. The system’s role became particularly controversial during the Trump administration’s family separation policies, with critics arguing that Palantir’s technology directly enabled these human rights violations. The partnership sparked significant internal dissent within Palantir, leading to employee protests and high-profile resignations.
Police departments across the United States, including the LAPD and NYPD, have deployed Palantir’s software for predictive policing initiatives. However, studies have consistently shown that these systems disproportionately target minority communities, effectively digitising and amplifying existing racial biases in policing. Despite Palantir’s claims of algorithmic neutrality, the real-world outcomes reveal how the company’s “neutral tool” defence crumbles when confronted with systematic discrimination.
Palantir’s expansion into military operations has positioned the company at the heart of modern warfare and domestic surveillance, often with devastating human consequences.
Palantir’s Gotham platform has been extensively used by the U.S. military for targeting operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. Investigative reports have linked the company’s AI systems to civilian casualties in drone strikes, often resulting from flawed data analysis or algorithmic errors. These incidents highlight the life-and-death consequences of deploying AI systems in military contexts without adequate human oversight.
While Palantir maintained its distance from the Cambridge Analytica scandal, reports revealed that Palantir employees had consulted with the political data firm that harvested 87 million Facebook profiles for electoral manipulation. Although Palantir denied formal involvement, the association further damaged the company’s reputation and raised questions about its role in undermining democratic processes.
As Palantir has expanded its AI capabilities, ethical concerns have grown about the militarisation of artificial intelligence and the exploitation of sensitive data.
8 men have more money than 4 Billion combined!! That is insane!! That is greed! That is what Trump and Farage represent!
The Racist Populism and Putin-loving Fascism of Trump, Farage and Orban is at last on the wane. Blaming immigrants while backing billionaires is ridiculous!

There is an immigration problem (created by Western Wars and extreme poverty, acerbated by global warming) that needs addressing BUT the real problems are religion and greedy BILLIONAIRES!!!
I’m wondering how 19 super-rich American households could have added $1.8 trillion to their wealth in just the last 24 months — roughly the size of the economy of Australia — while the rate of child poverty in the U.S. has more than doubled, from a low of 5.2 percent in 2021 to over 13 percent now?
A tale of corruption and the undermining of democracy with direct support for Billionaires and the far right. Opening aligning with white supremacist groups, evangelical extremists and Nazi/Fascist ideology. Racist policies that target immigrants, people of colour and Muslims, scapegoating them to deflect from the real issue – the siphoning of wealth into the hands of a tiny elite. The protection of paedophiles and pardoning of criminals.
If I was American I’d be worried!
This isn’t draining the swamp; this is building a giant new swamp.
The USA remains one of the worst educated countries – unless you are rich and can afford one of the top schools. The general population is ignorant of science and maths and has a low literacy rate. Ranked 31st in the world way behind the UK and other European countries.
Despite being the world’s top economy there is no money for education because the Billionaires take a huge proportion (increased their wealth by 60% while ordinary people struggle) and a huge chunk goes on WAR!!
Since the war began on February 28, U.S. forces have launched more than 7,800 airstrikes targeting Iran’s navy, missile stockpiles and defence infrastructure
| Missile Type | Approx. Cost | Source |
|---|---|---|
| ICBM (Sentinel program) | $141 billion (program cost) | |
| Standard Missile‑2 (SM‑2) | ~$2 million each | |
| Cruise missiles | Between $1.8 million and $2 million, | |
| S‑500 system | $2.5 billion |
So next time you see those missiles going off in Iran – each one is a school!
A pair of likely lads in uniform looking young and happy. They were stationed near Naples in the war – of fighting fascists.
If they only knew that the very fascist ideology they were risking their lives for was sweeping through the USA, UK and the rest of the world.
Right now the most obnoxious rump of the Tory party is finding its home in Reform to bring Trump’s divisive politics of hatred to our streets with the blessing of louts like Tommy Robinson.
I reckon Elon Musk, Zuckerberg, Bezos and the rest of the billionaire exploiters are orchestrating the mindset of the gullible with their fear of immigrants.
It’s not the immigrants who are destroying the world. They are the sad debris, the fall-out from the way Musk, Zuckerberg and Bezos are running the world for their own profit. Trump, Brexit and immigrants are being used as they deflect from what they are really up to.
We’re in the time of greed and austerity as they suck us all dry.
My Dad and Jim were fighting for a better, fairer world. It didn’t work out, did it? Who could have foreseen? Only Orwell!
