Greedy billionaires want more tax breaks and cuts to welfare. That’s why THEY elected Trump and want Farage!!

The fact that this obnoxious, racist, misogynistic, greedy, psychotic, narcissistic imbecile was elected clearly illustrates everything that is bad about America today. The poorly educated, ill-informed, superstitious and ignorant have always been there; I just did not realise there were so many of them!

Their is no such thing as morality on the right wing of politics. The right represents selfishness and unadulterated greed. Compassion and empathy are swear words. Fairness is weakness. It’s survival of the fittest and stamp the poor into the ground. They exist to be exploited.
The right are a bunch of elitist profiteers put in place by gullible wannnabes.

I want a fairer, more compassionate world. I want compassion and protection of the weak.
A more religious country is hard to find.
A country based on morality.
Scratch the surface and the sweet Apple Pie crumbles into greed and corruption.
Jesus commanded to look after the poor and warned about the rich not getting into heaven but that cuts no ice. The wealthy evangelists and senators live in luxury while the poor are destitute and live under flyovers and on streets.
They choose a leader who is a criminal rapist who uses religion to gain power and make money. Religious leaders make themselves obscenely rich and prey on children instead of praying.
Morality is dead. Judge a tree by its fruit.
Hypocrisy rules.
Billionaires pull the strings. Greed is the mantra. Religion is greed.

No Truth. No solid ground.
No truth,
Only opinion,
As the foundations crumble,
Edifices fall.
Everything is liquid.
There is no solid ground.
Into the vacuum
Populists slip
To offer the solidity of a swamp.
Stirring the pot,
Accusing Deep State,
Insinuating fear
And hate.
Deploying scapegoats.
Offering phony solutions.
Used. Abused.
Dressed in caps and uniform,
Rings in noses,
Waving flags,
Euphoric on dreams,
Ecstatic with trust,
Led on a goose chase,
Searching for solid ground.

In the grubby world of politics, where deception is the nature of the game and there are no rules, the charade has descended to a new all-time low.
Hypocrisy rules.
In this nightmare world the swamp talks about draining the swamp.
Greedy billionaires scramble to convince the masses that they have their interests at heart while cynically exploiting them for every penny they can get.
Fairness and justice, empathy and compassion, are just words to be treated with contempt and disdain.
Greed rules.
There are no rules.
Lies, deception, misinformation and fake news are the weapons of choice.
Confuse, direct and rule.
Weaponise the truth.
Tax evasion is a laudable enterprise in the land of survival of the richest. Sex crimes are not only acceptable but a badge of office.
Truth is absent. Belief is optional.
The faithful are in a trance and perform their circus tricks to order.
This is the age of post-truth where science and intelligent, rational thought has been replaced with superstition and conspiracy.
Populists detest solid ground. They are denizens of the real swamp!
Black and White
Insanity of black and white,
Simple solutions
To complex issues.
The heavy hand,
A show of force,
A set of rules,
Severe punishment.
Fake news,
Disinformation,
Propaganda,
Feeding a philosophy:
Winners and losers,
Rich and poor,
Powerful and weak,
A worthy elite,
A deserving poor.
Every regime
Requires its scapegoats.
Every regime
Promises redemption.
Every regime
Is put there by the same,

I look at the election of Trump and despair. Once again we elect a megalomaniac into office. We expect a billionaire to care about the poor. We ignore the tax cuts for the wealthy and hang on the vacuous promises.
Make America Great Again. As if.
We are offered stupid black and white, simplistic solutions to impossibly complex problems; with the obvious intent of gaining power and robbing the system to create even greater inequality.
Forget morality. There is none.
It is so transparent; so blatant.
Drain the swamp? He is turning the whole country into his swamp – a swamp built on unrestricted greed and lust for power.
Isn’t that completely clear?

I took this photo back in 2010. To me it is an important symbol – a statement of philosophy.
Statements and philosophies are extremely important. They are symbols of intent and dictate what happens next.
They guide minds down pathways.
It was given to the American people by France (maybe partly as a snub to Britain) as a symbol of freedom. It depicts a Roman Goddess breaking free of chains. It is symbolic of the USA’s breaking away from Britain and also the emancipation of slavery.
It is situated on Liberty Island and is a powerful symbol of liberty and freedom.
It is adorned with a powerful poem written by Emma Lazarus:
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
The line that is best remembered is the one starting with ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.’
It was a statement of intent. Here was a welcoming land of freedom and space who would welcome all manner of poor immigrants and afford them the opportunity to make a new prosperous life.
How times change.
I’m not sure that the Native Americans, as the endemic population, quite shared that sentiment.
These days liberty has come to mean something different – something involving guns, selfishness and intolerance.
I’m not so sure that I like that ‘new American’ version of freedom. It seems to value the liberty of one person above that of others and the environment.
To me liberty is finding space to be yourself with harming others or the planet. Within a crowded environment and threatened ecosystem there is a compromise. I value tolerance.
If you want true liberty you need to live on your own.
So there is much to discuss about the symbols and philosophy tied up within that statue – and whether that poem still has relevance today.
Is America a symbol of freedom and justice? I think many would view it as the opposite – an unwelcoming place, full of indoctrination, fanaticism, superstition and division – a nation that seeks to dominate, control, subjugate and interfere.
Symbols are important.
