Cataract Operation

Just come back from my 2nd cataract operation. Both eyes now done!

It’s very weird to be lying on the operating theatre with the surgeon cracking jokes with the nurses as he rummages around inside your eye, cutting out the lens and putting a plastic one in place!

Feels strange.

But I can already see clearly!

I can see that an extreme right-wing, authoritarian fascist government is bombing the hell out of innocent Palestinian civilians and starving children to death.

I can see that an extreme right-wing, authoritarian fascist government is bombing the hell out of Ukraine and looking to expand its influence.

I can see that an extreme right-wing, authoritarian fascist government has taken over the USA and is trying to dismantle the democratic apparatus.

I can see that an extreme right-wing, authoritarian fascist party is looking to take over the UK.

Time for all those of us who value cooperation, friendship and liberty to resist!

My eyesight might be improved. My insight stays the same!

(BTW – it’s a bit sore, sticky, gritty and foggy! – I look to a brighter future!)

Never been wrong

I asked Liz Truss if she’s ever been wrong.

                                She smirked like a demented twerp

With a face like King Kong

                And slunk off to Trump

                                To sing his narcissistic song.

She said ‘I’ll be back! And it won’t be long!’

So I asked Rees-Mogg how does it feel?

                                He looked down his nose

As if looks could kill.

                And casually burnt

A hundred thousand pound bill.

Said he’d have me roasted on a public school grill!

Well the Tory Party’s over

                There’s vomit on the floor.

All the xenophobic bastards

                Have been kicked right out the door.

They’re busy stuffing hay in lofts

                So they’ll never be poor.

I look for justice

                What is it for?

Should all be held accountable?

                To settle up the score!

But there’s a great reckoning coming

                They’ll see what’s in store!

They’ll be mighty retribution

                Complete with death and gore.

I can hear the four horsemen coming

                To sing the Armageddon roar.

Scapegoating immigrants, cuts for the plebs, tax breaks for the wealthy and the glorification of greed. Who will come out on top?

I’m a socialist. I want a fair society where everyone enjoys a good standard of living, everyone has a home, and nobody stuffs away billions in offshore tax havens. I want a land with great education, a health system that works for everyone and great infrastructure. I don’t mind paying taxes if it goes to the right things. I don’t want the Tory capitalist dream of tax cuts, tax havens and cuts to public services and welfare. I don’t want poverty alongside opulence! The wealthy should pay more!

I don’t want to live in a greedy land like the USA with selfish, greedy billionaires like Musk, Gates and Trump want more and more and are prepared to push millions into extreme poverty to get it! I think that’s immoral!

I am quite happy for the right-wingers to destroy each other!

The Hypocrisy of right-wing politics!

Their is no such thing as morality on the right wing of politics. The right represents selfishness and unadulterated greed. Compassion and empathy are swear words. Fairness is weakness. It’s survival of the fittest and stamp the poor into the ground. They exist to be exploited.

The right are a bunch of elitist profiteers put in place by gullible wannnabes.

I want a fairer, more compassionate world. I want compassion and protection of the weak.

OXY MORON

Democracy means not voting.

A better future means making it worse.

Tackling problems means creating bigger problems.

Expanding trade means shrinking it.

Protesting lack of investment by shrinking the economy.

Taking control by giving up control.

Brexit is an oxymoron.

Nothing much about Brexit makes sense to me. I can’t see how ducking out of governing but still being subject to their rules makes any sense. I can’t how protesting the lack of investment and doing something that shrinks the economy makes any sense. I can’t see how stopping immigration from one place and replacing it with people from further away solves anything.

Most of all I can’t see how stopping people voting is defending democracy.

Brexit is an oxymoron.
