No Gifts or Donations to Politicians!! It’s Corrupt!! The Tories were experts at it!

The Right Wing media are up in arms about a suit, a frock and a pair of glasses!

Rishi Sunak paid £100,000 of our money for a make-over.

Johnson spend millions!!

Let’s not go into the wine, holidays and parties, the Russians, wallpaper and parties (All at our expense!)

In 2019 Parliament declared earnings: Boris Johnson £6.4m. Theresa May £3.5m. Liz Truss £1.1m. Keir Starmer £899k. Rishi Sunak £658k.

Why are they just picking on Starmer?? Pick on all of them!!

Politicians

Politicians

Psychotic narcissists,

                Plausible Sociopaths,

Conmen too.

Mad profiteers,

                Planning their careers

Haven’t got a clue.

We elect them,

                Select them,

Fooled through and through.

Propaganda and lies,

                Media bias,

Deception grew and grew.

Psychotic narcissists,

                Plausible Sociopaths,

Conmen too.

Opher – 14.2.22022

These politicians are all too often not public servants. They are power-seeking careerists.

What we want from politicians are people who will work hard to do what is best for the people they represent.

What we get are people who scheme and lust for power and who are preoccupied with feathering their own nest at our expense.

They lie, cheat and spin in order to deceive us.

For them politics is a revolving door into status and wealth.

Politics attract narcissists, psychopaths and sociopaths because they either do not care who they hurt or they gain pleasure from hurting people. They do not agonise over policies that plunge millions into extreme hardship or death. To them it’s a game.

Add to that the tribal nature of the system and the media bias and propaganda and you have a toxic system.

Time for a big overhaul!!

Politicians are public servants! They should be held to account for their actions. If they break the law they should be in court. Politics should be crystal clear, thoroughly scrutinised and the people involved subject to draconian punishments for breaking laws and codes.

How have we ended up with the most criminal of gangs in charge of the country? Lawbreaking and lying are second nature to them.

Gimme Some Truth

All I want is the truth now!!

I’m sick and tired!! Trump!!! Johnson!!! Bolsonaro!! Populist liars!!!

I’m sick and tired of hearing things
From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocritics

All I want is the truth
Just give me some truth

I’ve had enough of reading things
By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians

All I want is the truth
Just give me some truth

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of Tricky Dicky
Is going to Mother Hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of soap
Money for dope
Money for rope

I’m sick to death of seeing things
From tight-lipped, condescending, mama’s little chauvinists
All I want is the truth
Just give me some truth, now

I’ve had enough of watching scenes
With schizophrenic, egocentric, paranoiac, prima-donnas
All I want is the truth, now-now
Just give me some truth

Some amusement to distract you from what is going on.

Politicians, Johnson – life in the sewer!!

Poetry – A Politicians lament. – John Phillips

Another poem from Shorts and shots – available from Amazon:

A Politicians lament.

The people have spoken, the bastards!

The public has voted me out.

They say that I cannot be trusted;

That should n’t be what it’s about.

They say that I fiddled expenses;

They claim my accounting is flawed.

So I made a few bob, I was good at my job

And it’s fair I received my reward.

It’s rumoured I’m owned by Big Business

And am paid in substantial amounts.

That cash is my paramount interest,

And the state of my offshore accounts.

When alleged that my deeds were illegal,

I was so overwhelmed with surprise;

I can honestly say, it was never that way

And it’s all been a tissue of lies.

It’s been said I’m misogynistic,

A rake and a letch and a grope.

What ‘s a man s’posed to do, if the girls go for you?

I was tempted, it was n’t my fault.

And that night at the fancy-dress party,

With my swastika, jackboots and gun.

What a hell of a mess when it leaked to the press;

It was only a matter of fun.

But the people have spoken, the bastards;

And there’s nothing to do or to say.

So I’ll cash in my bonds and my holdings

And siphon the money away.

After all that I’ve done for the country,

I’ve been branded, a knave and a fraud.

So I’ll clear-out my desk, have a well-deserved rest

And then take up my seat in The Lords.

Opher’s World – A cynical view of what the politicians are doing to education. Statistics, bureaucracy and strangulation by clip-board!

teaching-fun-19662406PublicSchools

Education – the perversion into mindless vacuity and statistics.

We teach the young to read and write; two tools that have unlimited power to expand the mind. At once all knowledge and wisdom is at their finger-tips – the greatest thoughts of the greatest men and women; the most wonderful poems, the most brilliant use of prose to paint pictures in the mind. All power resides in their hands to take the electricity in their minds and paint their own pictures to enthral, elucidate and educate others.

Reading and writing are the greatest pleasures in life. They excite and open doors to other universes.

We teach them to read so that they can read the adverts that sell rubbish they do not need, read the texts that indoctrinate and befuddle, read trivia that serves no other purpose than to titillate and pass the time, read the political pamphlets that lie and deceive and set in motion the mechanism of their own downfall.

Perhaps it is best they never learnt to read at all?

We teach them to write so that they might sign the cheques, agreements and mortgages that sell their souls, send the texts that talk of nothing and deliberately misspell and destroy the grammar so that all understanding of the beauty of language is negated.

Perhaps it would be better never to have learnt to write at all?

What we need is the education that creates the awe and wonder, reveals the beauty and discloses truth. An education that makes a joy of language and thrills and excites in a way that statistics cannot measure.

Straw and Rifkin – Politicians with snouts in the trough!!

pigs-feeding-at-trough

Mr Straw – £5000 per day????  The Tories are cutting benefits so that some people don’t get that a year!!!   Where is your integrity??

Mr Rifkin – you deserve to be paid an enormous salary because of your standing??  You must be joking. Your standing is that of a public servant.  Have you no shame??

And they wonder why people are sick of the greedy, selfish, warmongering establishment!!

Maybe Russell Brand is right!!  But then that lets the Tories in and that’s the worst of two bad options!!

I’m disgusted!!! They are an arrogant bunch of self-seeking bastards!

Red poppies – no remembrance of heroes!

I am a pacifist. I do not believe that war is the answer to anything.

War merely creates death, fury and revenge.

It destroys, kills innocents and terrorises.

War is a political tool deployed to gain power.

I believe violence creates more violence.

No matter how good it may make you feel to hit out and hurt someone there is always a better way. It may take longer but the end result is always better.

I do not like the ‘Red Poppy’ – it has become an institution. Insincere politicians pay lip service, jingoistic politics rules and nationalism and patriotism are stirred in a torrid mix.

The red poppy was adopted as a reminder of the agonies of war, the brutality, dehumanising nature and industrial slaughter; to remind ourselves of its futility, stupidity and waste so that we might never make the same horrendous mistakes again. It appears to have become almost a glorification of heroes.

There is nothing glorious or heroic about war.

War is an obscenity.

When a bullet hits a person it wounds both the firer and the recipient. It makes monsters out of humans.

Our soldiers often do horrible things in terrible situations. They are often brave and courageous but mostly they are ordinary people following orders for dubious reasons.

Soldiers are the tools of politicians. These are the same politicians who sanctimoniously parade at the cenotaph and pay lip service to the truth of conflict.

Let us remember the blown off limbs, damaged brains, corrupted lungs, shattered minds, corrupted morals and make sure it never happens again!

Perhaps the white poppy is more fitting!
