I believe that most human beings are damaged and mentally ill. I believe human minds are incredibly delicate and not able to deal with stress and trauma. We are incredibly unsuited to life in the modern world. Bullying, violence and loss send us out of kilter.
In order for politicians and CEOs to rise to the top they have to be cynical, arrogant and uncaring. Billionaires did not get where they are purely by hard work. They clawed their way to the top over other aspiring individuals and the hard work and ideas of other (usually much more deserving) individuals. Once there, they feel they are eminently superior and deserve to be there. This is a system that greatly favours psychopaths (who enjoy hurting others), sociopaths (who don’t mind who they hurt) and narcissists (who arrogantly want to stand out and feel everything should revolve around them).
Musk and Trump amply fit the mental illness criteria. I believe both are extreme narcissists who want to be the centre of attention. They are arrogant to the extreme and feel that they need no facts or experts. They intuitively know best. They both show extreme psychopathic/sociopathic tendencies coupled with paranoia. The world is out to get them. It’s split into friends and enemies. They need to crush their enemies without mercy. Only they are right. They lie and seem to believe their own lies. They both feel that laws and rules should not apply to them. Anyone who stands in their way will be dealt with. They will suffer no opposition or alternative views. Consequently they surround themselves with loyal sycophants and eject anybody who opposes their views. They lie and argue black is white. Anything that goes wrong is either fake news or sabotage, never anything to do with them. They are completely lacking in empathy and compassion. They will sack people without a thought for their families, mortgages, children and mental health. They have no conscience. They seem to enjoy inflicting pain on anybody who opposes them. They do not even care about their minions. They will throw them to the wolves to make more money for themselves. They mercilessly exploit their followers, asking for donations and selling tacky MAGA merchandise, preying off the poorest.
This obsessive need to make more and more money is a disease in itself. It demonstrates an inner insecurity, a mad desire to demonstrate their superiority, to live up to some ridiculous expectation. They are driven (and not in a nice way). Who they trample to get more is irrelevant – probably pleasurable to them. The thought of all those poor people on benefit thrown into extreme poverty by their cuts probably pleases them immensely, reinforces their own self-worth. They stereotype the poor as feckless degenerates, immigrants as merciless rapists and murderers. They are never humans worthy of understanding and compassion. They need crushing. The thought of their ‘enemies’ being humbled and punished also causes pleasure. These men are very sick (but so are a majority of CEOs and politicians). Sick people get to the top because they don’t care; they are not haunted by doubts or the consequences of their actions.
Human beings have created a system which favours the mentally ill – or at least certain mental illnesses – and we greatly overestimate the resilience of the human mind. We are sick fucks. Instead of creating a well-run, non-polluting world in which all people and nature can thrive, we have created a war-ridden, religious and political split world and a system that enables a small powerful elite to rule, rob and exploit while the majority live in dire conditions and the planet is ravaged.
Aliens visiting our world would surely see us all as completely insane.
How did we allow this to happen?
Trump, Vance, Musk, Putin, Xi, Jung Un, and all the despotic leaders, religious leaders and billionaires are a product of our collective madness. We put them there! We continue to put them there! We vote for division and hate over compassion, empathy and unity. We vote for strong leaders. We are gullible and easily conned. Our strong leaders are psychopaths and we put them in control!
We believe in absurdities and are willing to believe in utter nonsense – flat earth, QAnon conspiracies, Arks, paradise, Satan, Adam and Eve, Jesus and Mohamed. We don’t need evidence. We accept on trust gods speaking to people up mountains, in wildernesses or caves and that every single word is truth. We brainwash our children. We ignore history and believe what we are told by billionaires who control the media, education and religion. We put our faith in greedy, power-mad monsters and hope for a good outcome. Somehow we convince ourselves that these callous billionaires have our interests at heart! We are nuts!
We are all hopelessly insane.
I’ve completely lost faith in humans as a species. I think we are very likely to destroy ourselves and most other life on this planet. I despair.
