Corbyn Magic – Labour Tide coming in like a Tsunami! Tories down to 3% lead – A hung Parliament!

The latest YouGov poll gives the gap down to 3%. If that was the result there would be a hung parliament!

But Labour have advanced from -24% to -3%. The gap narrows daily. If it continues at this rate they’ll have a majority of a hundred MPs by polling day!

People have seen through the Tory lies.

They think May is running scared and she’s weak.

They think Corbyn will deliver a better Brexit.

They are fed up with cuts, austerity and greed.

They are fed up with the poor being screwed to give to the rich.

They don’t care about the hysterical lies of the media.

They like Labour policies and want to see a fairer Britain.

This time it is not Blair the watered down Tory; it is proper Labour fairness and justice.

Have faith in democracy!!

A Tory majority spells doom for the NHS, Schools and Social Care for the elderly and disabled.

Get out there and VOTE!!!! Save the country from this Tory tyranny!! Bring in a Labour victory!!

Time for change!! Time for something different!! TIME FOR LABOUR!!!!

Mrs Wibbly Wobbly dodges Women’s Hour too!!

Not only does she duck the political debate but she ducks a major Radio show too and sends in her deputy – the loathsome Justine Greening (her who is overseeing Grammar Schools, Free Schools, Religious Schools and Academies – a bunch of expensive nutty gimmicks).

What is she playing at?

The invisible woman seems quite content to hide among friends and do the stage-managed events, knock on the supporters doors and take the easy root.

She puts herself up as the tough guy but she is running scared.

No direct debate with Corbyn.

No confrontation.

No difficult public programmes.

No public meetings that are not carefully vetted.

Caving in to her Right-wing.

More U-turns than Hitler had U-boats.

Tough?? Tough as a plate of jelly!!

She makes belligerent noises from the side to put the EU negotiator’s backs up and will cave in like a jelly with an elephant sitting on it.

What we need is a different tone. Corbyn will get it right and get us the best deal!!

Journey Pt. 12 – Borneo – Banda Sera Begawan – tropical city with stilted village, mosques and temples.

We have just crossed the equator heading for Borneo!  As usual there is the same silly pageant on deck with people dressed up with seaweed and gowns, covering volunteers with shaving foam and  dunking them in the swimming pool. The Captain asked Neptune for permission to cross the equator. It was a farce. Yet it was a farce with a history. At one time, back in the days of yore, this was a solemn ceremony. Sailing was dangerous. The seas could be terrifying as mountainous waves swamped ships and little wooden craft were tossed about like toys. Back then they believed the Gods created the storms and needed pacifying. We see in the Odyssey how sacrifices were made. Back then gods such as Neptune were real. Now, we look back at those beliefs as daft. The ceremony is now ‘a bit of a lark’.

There were amazing feats of creativity on deck as the chef did the most amazing ice carving in no time at all!

We were back into the northern hemisphere. Just 50 days left!

Borneo is hot. 31 degrees!!! We headed off to the local town and boarded the local bus. The locals were extremely friendly and interested in these Westerners joining them, fascinating for us. It was a 30 minute journey, bumping along and hurtling down the roads. Around us was the lush tropical rainforest. We were heading for Banda Seri Begawan – the capital city.

Off the bus we walked along the waterfront looking over to the stilted town and back towards the impressive bridge. Then it was straight off to see the wonders of the Mosque. There was a fantastic reflective water pool in front complete with large colourful tiled ship. As mosques go it was a beautiful example. They build to impress and Muslim architecture, ceramics and abstract art is extremely beautiful.

The next stop was the stilted water village. We took a local boat and he took us round the village, out to the mangrove swamp, complete with crocodile, and over to the Royal Palace. The village was extensive with stilted hospital, schools, fire-station and police station.

Back on land we headed for the shopping mall to cool off with air-conditioning and a local cinnamon and honey ice-drink with tapioca – very different.

Refreshed we set off to check out the Chines Temple. The gruesome warriors, demons and gaudy red, blue and gold, bells, dragons, drums, idols, incense and bonsai trees all part of the rich pageant. It all goes into the rich tapestry of religion. You have to wonder at what people believe.

Hot, and sweaty again we headed back to the boat on the local bus.

Quite a day!!

Off somewhere else tomorrow!! Just have to plan a five course meal in the restaurant for today. It’s a hard life but we’re not wilting yet!!

A Hard Day for the Planet!

I thought it was appropriate to post this on the day that Donald Trump stupidly pulled out of the Paris Agreement and Theresa May refused to condemn him like the other world leaders have.

It is a song that sums up the terrible State the world is in and the mess we are making of it.

A Hard Day For The Planet – Loudon Wainwright

The dollar went down and the President said
“Who’s in charge, now?” I don’t know, take your pick.
A new disease every day and the old ones are coming back
Things are looking kind of gray, like they’re going to black
Don’t turn on the TV, don’t show me the paper
(I) don’t want to know he got kidnapped or why they all raped her
I want to go on vacation till the pressure lets up
But they keep hijacking airplanes and blowing them up
[Chorus]
It’s been a hard day on the planet
How much is it all worth?
It’s getting harder to understand it
Things are tough all over on earth.
It’s hot in December and cold in July
When it rains it pours out of a poisonous sky
In California the body counts keep getting higher
It’s evil out there, man that state is always on fire.
Everyone has a system, but they can’t seem to win
Even Bob Geldof looks alarmingly thin
I got to get on that shuttle get me out of this place
But there’s gonna be warfare up there in outer space
[Chorus]
I’ve got clothes on my back and shoes on my feet
A roof over my head and something to eat
My kids are all healthy and my folks are alive
You know, it’s amazing but sometimes I think I’ll survive
I’ve got all of my fingers and all of my toes
I’m pretty well off I guess, I suppose
So how come I feel bad so much of the time?
A man ain’t an island John Dunn wasn’t lying
[Chorus]
It’s business as usual; some things never change
It’s unfair, it’s tough, unkind and it’s strange
We don’t seem to learn; we can’t seem to stop
Maybe some explosions would close up the shop
You know, maybe that would be fine: we would be off the hook
We resolved all our problems, never mind what it took
And it all would be over, finito, the end
Until the survivors started up all over again

Featured book – Anthropocene Apocalypse – the blurb

The environment and the protection of wildlife has to be the most important issue of all!!
I have just travelled the world – so many animals are on the verge of extinction; places which teemed with life are now deserts. We are destroying everything.
Trump and May – WAKE UP!!!

Anthropocene Apocalypse – The environment and the effect that man is having on it!

Can we sit back while the natural world is destroyed for profit?

Trump and May back the rape of the planet.

Anthropocene Apocalypse – a world crisis?

As the world population soars towards a projected 10 Billion.

As the world’s mammals have been decimated to 44% of what they were 40 years ago!

As the world’s invertebrate population has crashed by nearly half in the last forty years!

As the elephant and lion now join the tiger, rhino and jaguar on the endangered list!

Are we approaching a day when the natural world will be nothing more than a footnote in the history books?

Will we be showing our children and grandchildren the remnants of our wild-life in zoos?

Will we be pollinating our flowers by hand?

Does anybody actually care?

You can read about my own observations and feelings about this in my book:

Please give it a read and pass it round to all your friends. It is time we did something about it. We can alter the zeitgeist!

All the major leaders have responded to Trump’s disastrous pulling out of the Paris agreement – Except May!

A whole series of world leaders have condemned Trump’s irresponsible action. They have signed a letter regretting his short-sighted policy. The only one who has refused to sign is Theresa May!

Frightened she might lose someone to hold hands with?

I believe it clearly demonstrates her attitude to the environment. She’s happy to trash the planet as long as she can make a buck or two to plug the giant hole that Brexit will leave.

Anthropocene Apocalypse – we take for granted the things around us. We won’t miss it until it’s gone.

Its a dire future. Trump is making a major mess up.
