Either continue its support for allies in NATO against aggression from Russia, North Korea and China or side with our traditional enemies to make a new world order.

So – is it Britain, France, Germany, Canada, Australia and New Zealand (plus most Western European countries – Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Poland etc)

Or is it North Korea, Russia and China.

The focus is Ukraine right now but Russia has declared the UK is their number one enemy and is openly threatening us with nuclear holocaust. They are cutting our communication cables, blowing up underwater pipelines, tracking all cables and pipelines and attacking us on a daily basis with incursions and cyber warfare.

Is the USA with us or against us?

The fact that Trump is openly supporting extreme right-wing pro-Putin Europeans like Oban and Wilders, Farage and Tice, indicates what he wants.

From where I am the USA has become a totalitarian, fascist regime. The MAGA movement is openly backing fascists, racists and totalitarian regimes.

The extreme right-wing movements like ‘We Shall Not Be Replaced’ are setting the agenda – misogyny, racism and fascism rules. The extreme religious right-wing nutters are propelling this!

Just think – if MAGA had been in charge back in the 1930s they WOULD have sided with Hitler and Japan to rule the world. There was a minority movement to do just that.

I don’t think the majority of Americans are racist misogynists. I don’t think they want to turn their back on their friends to embrace their enemies. Will they allow Trump and MAGA to do this?

Source of the chaos

Searching for the source of chaos

Is not a difficult task.

Look who’s sowing division

In his KKK mask.

Look who sacks anybody

Who disagrees with him.

Look who sulks petulantly,

Perpetually looks grim.

The harbinger of chaos

Can’t even read a book.

Is ignorant of science

And is nothing but a crook.

He won’t show us his tax returns

Or his Russian connections.

All he’s got inside his head

Is winning the elections.

He loves to have the power

And craves more wealth.

The only person he loves

Is the image of himself.

He’ll stir up the rioting

And condone the killers.

With snout in the trough

With all the other swillers.

The source of all the chaos

Is hiding in plain sight.

Pretending to have solutions

But never getting it right.

He feeds his loyal base

With cynical concessions.

While sneering at their loyalty

And feeding their obsessions.

The master of fake news

And conspiracy theory.

Tweeting long into the night

When other eyes are bleary.

Out on the golf course

In the midst of emergency.

Calling hoax, misinforming;

Not understanding urgency.

He does not care about people.

Has no ounce of compassion.

He’ll do anything for a vote.

The truth is on ration.

The architect of chaos

Is serving up the blame.

Passing the buck

Without an ounce of shame.

Trump has been actively inciting and dividing, lying and cheating, all his life. He thinks that’s the only way. He thinks that is what is meant by doing business.

He presents himself as something he isn’t – a successful businessman, a friend to the poor.

The gullible fall for it. They believe he’s fighting the alien lizards! That’s it, those lizards live out on the golf course!

What happens to the Republican Party now?

It seems to me that the Republican Party is at a crossroads. They have some important decisions to make. They have been taken over by the extremists – the mad Tea Party nutcases and Trumpist conspiracists. They have virtually ousted the genuine Republican conservatives. The party now represents the extreme groups – the KKK, neo-nazis, white supremacists, proud boys, and QAnon conspirators.

Now that Trump has stepped over the bounds and his popularity has dived they are left stranded. The party has been sullied and lost its moral basis. Too many of the politicians support mad conspiracy theories and have condoned immoral and even criminal behaviour.

It seems to me that they have a number of choices:

  1. They can go on as they are with the conservatives kowtowing to the dominant extremists and hope that the popularity bounces back;
  2. They can oust all the moderate conservatives and become an extreme far-right party;
  3. The conservatives can seize their party back from the extremists and reinstitute their traditional values;
  4. The party can split into two distinct parties.

This is a similar thing to what has happened in the UK with the Tory Party over Brexit. The Tory Party ousted all the moderate Tories, like Rory Stewart, Kenneth Clarke, Michael Hesseltine and Philip Hammond, as the extreme Brexiteers took over and it lurched to the right. Now that Brexit is over we’ll see what the repercussions are. Will the public support an extreme-right party or will they suffer for this sway to the right.

As someone who detests the callous selfishness of right-wing policies, their favouring of the elite and crippling of public services, I think this is great. The more extreme the Republicans and Tories become the less electable they are. I’d be happy to see them annihilated for ever!

Strange Fruit – Billie Holiday – a song that exposes the racism of the past.

When Billie Holiday recorded and sang this song it was a dangerous thing to do. This was back in 1939.

The song has a haunting melody but deals with the terrible lynchings that were a regular feature in the Southern States of America. Nearly 2000 people met their end this way. Three quarters of them were black. There was no trial and they were sometimes for the smallest crimes or even hearsay.

The strange fruit were the bodies of the poor victims left dangling as a warning.

These were the racist days of the Ku Klux Klan. The grinning faces of the arrogant men, so eager to be photographed next to the crime they had committed is testimony to the awfulness of those times.

We should all play this song and reflect on the terrible nature of those crimes in the past so that they may never be repeated.

Racism in any form – white on black, black on white, brown on yellow – is simply wrong.
