Sunsets in the Indian Ocean

Sunsets at sea can be breathtaking.

Poetry – Come Close

Come Close

Come sit by my side,

Let us watch the sun slide into the sea.

As the sky puts on a show, cuddle in close

And be lost in its grand majesty.

Bathed in its glow,

As the colours all flow from gold

To crimson and blues,

And they breathe us in

To the connecting warmth of their hues.

As the heavens perform

With connections so warm to the stars

And beyond.

For the great dynamo

Of that heavenly show plays on the clouds

And into our bond;

And connects us through time

To the great pantomime our ancestors

Performed in their days;

The vibration of time

Never fail to be amazed.

So cuddle up close,

Ever so close, until we are one.

And we’ll play out our game

Until the game’s done.

The sun sets like it has done for billions of years – a great performance in the sky that sweeps us into wonder and connects us to the heavens, time and our ancestors.

How many other lovers have sat cuddled together and were bathed in its mystic glow?

Sunset at sea – photos

Sunsets at sea can be very special! This one was off the coast of Australia.

South Africa – Cape Town – beaches and sunsets

Two of my big loves are beaches and sunsets.

African Sunsets – photos

I never tire of sunsets. There is something magical about them. I also like experimenting. On some of these I used a flash to light up the trees in the immediate vicinity. I liked the effect.

Leaving India – Photos

Arriving back at our ship it was salutary to see so many armed soldiers surrounding the dock. Were they there to protect us? Or were they there to prevent the Indians from getting on board? Maybe both??

I always find men with guns very disturbing.

Osprey (fish eagles) were seeking a meal.

The water in the bay was full of yellowy-orange jellyfish.

Hooded crows watched from the superstructure.

The sun was setting, bathing everything in a hazy golden light. The big derricks looked like prehistoric dinosaurs.

We were saying goodbye to India.

We had packed a lot into a day – two cities – two historic temples, a couple of meals and beers, and a lot of sights, people and animals.

A good day – I must go back soon!

Mull – Some sunsets and geese to light up an evening.

Photography – Sunset over North Frodingham – beauty in the sky.

More awe and wonder in the North of England. It was a beautiful evening!

Photography – sunset on the river in Saigon with boats, liquid gold and swallows

This was the view from our hotel balcony. As the sun set the river turned to liquid gold. The swallows flew through the sunlight and the boats made ripples of ecstasy.
