‘Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we’re being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I’m liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That’s what’s insane about it.’

I’ve always believed that. Most people do not want to even contemplate or discuss it.

They like to label people as ‘left wing’ or ‘insane’ or ‘nutty’. But they are part of a mad machine, run by greedy, self-centred madmen, that is destroying the world.

So who’s mad?

Douglas Adams was a gem of a person who left this universe much too early. Nobody writes like him or has that incredible mind. I miss him.

I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

So many people are so pessimistic. But it is a beautiful universe isn’t it? Such a joy to explore and wonder at.

Evo Morales is the first indigenous President of Bolivia. He runs a left-wing government that believes in equality and education. He raised taxes on big companies in order to combat poverty and illiteracy.

Evo is an environmentalist who believes we have to put the planet before profit.

Sooner or later, we will have to recognise that the Earth has rights, too, to live without pollution. What mankind must know is that human beings cannot live without Mother Earth, but the planet can live without humans.

In Iraq, [American administration] said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction endangering mankind. With this pretext, the U.S. intervened militarily, and all they did is take control over oil fields, and oil wells.

The way I see it, it’s impossible to change things without encountering resistance.

Capitalism is the worst enemy of humanity

Henry is another of my favourite writers. He broke with tradition and started writing in that freewheeling style that gave rise to the Beat Movement and Kerouac. His semi-autobiographical books were full of life, sex, social observation, metaphysics, characters and bohemian lifestyle. He was an innovator and someone who wanted to mop up experience and wring every last drop out of it.
One’s destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things.
One can choose to live a mundane life or start looking at things more deeply, throw away convention and really live.

Kurt is one of my favourite writers. I love his wit, easy flowing style and great ideas. He is a man with great humanity. I like that.

Here’s a few quotes that I found fun and insightful:
