Some views of Skipton and Knaresborough

Castles, rivers, scenery, barges, pies, civil war history, Norman castle ruins, fish and chips, art, tall tales, hermit caves, a music scene, creepy caves – what more could you possibly want?

Dunster Castle – Devon.

As it was a gloomy day we decided to have a look at the castle. I like old things. Looking back at history reminds me how bloody and gory it was and what massive inequality existed.

There were the famous leather tapestries showing scenes from Anthony and Cleopatra.

One interesting fact was that the sea used to come right up to the front of the castle where all those green fields are. With global warming it probably will again.

More Photos from the South of France – a fabulous region.

It was in 2003 that we ventured back into France. I love the culture, the people, food and wine. The scenery is spectacular.

It was an opportunity for me to utilise the language skills I picked up at school – strangely the French people did not seem to understand their own language!
