Why the Conservatives cannot be trusted!

The first three letters of their name gives it away.

How interesting to stand back and watch the politicians promise the earth in order to gain power!

It is quite apparent that none of the politicians, apart from possibly the Greens, are at all bothered about what is best for the country (or the planet). They are trying bribe after bribe in order to sway people to vote for them so that they can gain power.

Power, like wealth, is a terribly addictive thing.

The election brings it to the surface and it is naked for all to see; their lust for power trumps all common sense. They will try anything to gain power. They will lie, scare, misrepresent and blatantly try to buy your votes.

It is quite obscene.

It takes a certain type of psychopath to be a politician!

It’s all short-term, all ideological, all planned out to gain votes. It  does not matter what is right or wrong, best for anyone or makes sense. It’s a big psychological game!

Quite nasty really!

A short history of politics.

austerity-isnt-working-steve-bell

  • The country was divided into fiefdoms. The robber barons, kings and their ilk paid for an army of thugs to maintain order. They took what they wanted. The rest was left to ordinary people. In return the ordinary folk got protection from other thugs.
  • The aristocracy and church owned the land, made the rules and organised things. The Church was second only to the king. The ordinary people did what they were told.
  • Magna Carta took some of the King’s power and gave it to the Barons.
  • Parliament was a group of aristocrats and wealthy merchants who met to decided the rules.
  • Democracy was invented. Representatives were elected by votes cast by those franchised to vote. The franchised were limited to a few wealthy landowners. Surprisingly they elected their friends who looked after the interests of wealthy landowners.
  • The Tory Party was formed by wealthy businessmen to look after the interests of wealthy businessmen. The wealthy lived in mansions and palaces with servants and the poor lived in hovels.
  • Democracy was gradually widened through much social upheaval and blood to include one man – one vote (the Tories fought this tooth and nail. They believed that if the ordinary people had a vote they might just vote for a system that was fairer and spread the wealth more)
  • Democracy was widened even further after more strife and blood to include women. (The Tories opposed this on the basis that women were feeble, intellectually challenged and hysterical.)
  • The Labour movement created Trade Unions which fought for fair pay and better conditions. Gradually things became fairer.
  • The trade union movement spawned the Labour Party to represent ordinary people. Their MPs were drawn from the mines and factories and knew what life was like.
  • The Labour Party was taken over by professional politicians and public school boys.
  • We are left with a Tory party who represent the interests of the rich and a Labour Party who are divorced from ordinary people and are only a little bit fairer that the Tories.
  • All the other parties make up the numbers and will never get large enough to form a government.
  • The population are fed propaganda created by the media who are controlled by the politicians and establishment.
  • Money buys the advertising and hence the views and votes.

We end up voting for the lesser of two evils.

Education under the Tories – Tickbox heaven – Statistic nightmare!

failed-student failure school-privatization-cartoon  soldiers in classroom Free-schools_2085870c streamingTired%20Teacher%20(smallest)_4 ofstedLines-cartoon-19_05_09-001 Ofsted 0511-1009-2115-2533_Cartoon_of_a_Gloomy_Guy_Standing_in_the_Rain_with_Tears_on_His_Face_clipart_image

Under the Tories it is teaching by numbers.

All that matters is the results, the league tables and the statistics.

Every lesson is slotted into the same mould.

Every teacher is battered into the routine of an automaton.

Heaven help you if you have a personality or flair.

One size fits all.

The children are drilled to become regurgitating zombies.

We must climb the league tables, remember the facts, pass the exams.

Every school has a big bonfire on which they pile the useless things to be burnt. Things like Fun, creativity, care, individuality, music, art, and culture.

This is the Tory concept of pass and fail. The bright ones are worthy; the rest are worthless.

Children are dumped on the rubbish heap.

This is the age of education on the cheap. We do not need qualified teachers. They are too expensive. The plebs can manage with anyone standing in front of a class.

This is education for free. Set up a ‘Free’ School – let the Creationists, Religious Right and Big Business pay to indoctrinate your kids. It won’t cost the State a penny.

We’ll get the big Academy groups in to cream off a profit off your kid.

And if your kid should complain that the stress is too much, the lessons are too boring, the curriculum is too narrow; we’ll get some soldiers in to keep discipline!

And if the teachers complain we’ll put them through a disciplinary and threaten them with capability.

And if the Management complain we’ll bring in Ofsted and have them kicked out.

This is the age of bullying, winners and losers.

Unless you are in the Public School system and can pay to send your child to a Private School – you can have teachers with flair, schools without bureaucracy, no ofsted breathing down your neck and lots of personal attention, interesting lessons, creativity and culture. Because you deserve it!

Election – I do not know if you have noticed that it is looming! Some thoughts.

cameron cameronhh cameron-miliband

Why is all this election business so artificial?

Politicians are simply not interested in doing what really needs doing. For them it is all about power and votes.

For most of the time they treat us with disdain and contempt.

The short term patterns of our election prevents any long-term planning. When it comes to infra-structure or painful decisions they duck the issues – they think ‘what is the point of doing something that a future government will pick up the credit for? Where’s the votes in that?

What I want is passion and idealism. I want someone who will stand up and put their views out because it is what they believe. I do not want to hear politicians blathering on about what they think might get them votes so that they can wield power and be the big I-Am. I want honesty.

I want politicians to do what is right and not what is popular.

I want integrity, real issues, caring and some common sense.

Why is it that we always have to choose which is the less nasty, less greedy, less crooked, less uncaring?

I want a real choice! I want an alternative to the selfish greed of the Tories with their uncaring disregard for ordinary people. I don’t want to have to settle for a watered down version.

There’s only one F in Ofsted – it’s time we dumped the tyranny and fear – it’s not working!

Ofsted ofstedLines-cartoon-19_05_09-001

Ofsted raised standards in education. It was effective. It has become a curse.

It is now a government tool for terrorising teachers, imposing political dogma, and beating the education system into the ground.

It runs on fear and it is strangling teaching and making education bland.

It is promoting a narrow view of the curriculum and driving creativity and caring subjects out of schools,

Teachers are being put through a mangle. Anything not measurable is being demoted and kicked into touch. Our schools have become factories.

Find out what a highly successful ex secondary Headteacher thinks about it all.

It is Ofsted that should be kicked into touch!

An ex Headteacher’s View – Free School’s – A complete waste of money, political gimmick and an anathema to integration.

What is wrong with these idiot politicians?

Instead of fixing things they introduce bribes in order to buy votes.

Free schools are the stupidest idea yet. The Tories seem to like stupid ideas. But Free Schools take the biscuit – they do four extremely stupid things:

a. They increase the number of Faith Schools – promoting the brain-washing of our children (The various religions, creationists and the like can’t wait to get their hands on our kids) and creating further segregation that feeds the sort of extremism we are seeing with ISIS. Do we really want to have isolated communities? Do we want ghettos of different religions and cultures? Do we want them maintaining different values? Or do we want an integrated community with variety, respect and shared British values?

b. They panda to parents in areas where schools are being closed because of falling numbers. It is not economic sense to keep schools open at huge cost. I thought these were times of austerity? This is an expensive bribe to buy votes! The Local Authorities know what is viable and what isn’t. These decisions are never popular.

c. They are sucking funding out of other schools. At a time when all schools are suffering with huge cuts this is insane.

d. Free schools run on different standards. They do not even have to have trained teachers! If Ofsted and the stringent teaching rules are so necessary for our State Schools why aren’t they needed here?

INSANITY on many fronts. When are we going to get intelligence being applied. I’m sick of political dogma!

If you want to know how to run an Outstanding Secondary School then buy my book on education. It’s very readable. You don’t even have to be a teacher to enjoy it. It’s just plain common sense. Parents in my village love it :

Tory policy – turning a bling eye to Paedophile ring among MPs? Read Sky News from this link – How Thatcher let Cyril Smith off and gave him a honours into the bargain!

Thatcher not only sold off the country’s assets, brought in deregulation that was responsible for BSE, waged war against the unions and caused misery among the young who were thrown on the scrapheap, she also rewarded known paedophiles!

Interesting reading!

Perhaps the Tories should only ever be elected if they gain 40% of all the votes of the eligible electorate?

bullingdon-club

Following on from the Tory idea to shackle unions by making it illegal to strike without at least 40% of all the available workers in support of the action – when was the last time a government had 40% of the electorate voting in support of them?

A lot of ballots do not even get 40% of the people to vote – let alone for a particular party.

A representative vote is what democracy is about. To win by one vote is sufficient. If they want to change the rules then change it for national elections too. If a party cannot muster 40% of the electorate it should not be allowed to govern. Fair’s fair. This government did not win the last election. They had no mandate from the electorate yet they have forced through their cuts and austerity programme.

Obviously democracy and Tories do not go together!

The Tories are looking at the traditional apathy and distrust of the electoral system in order to force through their huge cuts and further austerity – a programme that has blatantly failed!

There is another way!!

Tory definitions – We’re all in this together

Every word has a precise meaning but different people understand words differently. To comprehend what a person means you have to know where they are coming from.

When an American says Fanny they are referring to the back. When a Briton says Fanny they are referring to the front.

The Tories also have a different meaning for many words. I have tried to define certain words in common usage from the point of view of the Tory lexicon.

We’re                                     You

All                                           The common people

In                                             are up to your necks in

This                                         The mess we have created for you

Together                                 And you alone will be made to pay!

Hence tax cuts for the rich. Inheritance tax cuts for the rich. 20% pay rises for the bosses. 11% pay rises for the MPs. Slashed pensions for the public servants. Worse conditions for the public servants. Four years of pay freeze and austerity for the poor!

It is easy to understand once you have mastered the definition of the words used!

It is not that politicians are lying bastards just that they define words differently.
