The Wealthy are blackmailing us!

Tax is optional for the wealthy. They use various schemes to shove their money off-shore and avoid paying tax.

Trump has avoided paying tax at all most years!

If the wealthy paid their taxes there would be more than enough for schools, NHS, councils, youth services, libraries, potholes and everything else.

The wealthy scapegoat immigrants and scroungers but the real problem is them!

They even have the nerve to cut welfare in order to get tax cuts on the stuff they do declare!!

They hold us all to ransom. If a government threatens to close the loopholes and tax them fairly they use their wealth and control of the media to whistle up a tornado of lies, fear and outrage. They then threaten to withhold their money to destroy the economy or take it elsewhere.

Until we have a global application of fair tax the wealthy will continue to screw us!

I’d sure go after the rich before I started scapegoating the poor!

Clarkson, The Farmers and the rebuilding of our Public Services – NHS and Schools!

Can’t see the obnoxious self-serving pillock is going to enhance the farmers’ case! If anything he makes the case for more stringent taxation. It’s about time the wealthiest get to pay more. Clarkson epitomizes the profiteering wealthy who are using farms as a means to avoid paying tax.

Ordinary farmers do need protecting. I can see that they are asset-rich and income poor – but that is more the fault of the supermarkets paying too little. But when it comes to the really wealthy opportunists and landowners I think they should be paying just like everybody else.

The Tories destroyed our public services. We have to rebuild them somehow. The wealthy need to pay!

The Wealthy own the Media!

The wealthy want Trump and the Tories.

Racism – fueled by the Media

A relentless stream of racist anti-immigrant rhetoric created for a political/selfish agenda.

These people deflect from the real problem – the way the wealthy are exploiting us all – by scapegoating foreigners!!

Poetry – Who Rules the UK?

Who Rules the UK?

Who rules the UK?

‘Not I’ said the poor man

Struggling to get by,

‘I live out my days

Until the day I die.’

Who rules the UK?

‘Not I’, said the comfortable

Investing all their shares,

‘I’m doing alright

I have no need to care.’

Who rules the UK?

‘Not I,’ said the politician

Who is bought and sold,

‘I just get to vote

The way that I am told.’

Who rules the UK?

‘Not I,’ said the Queen.

‘I am just a figurehead.

Of power

I do not have a shred.’

Who rules the UK?

‘Brussels!’ shout the Brexiteers,

Snarling as they speak.

‘We want that power back

We haven’t got all week!’

Who really rules the UK?

Silence from those who do;

Who own the press

And buy the power;

Who quietly smile

As they watch it go sour.

‘There’s profit to be made

From this pantomime charade!

The people who have financed Brexit have done so for their own selfish reasons. They don’t care about the country or the people. They only care about themselves.

Some of them are ideologues. Some of them are speculators. Some of them are mad.

We’ve all been used!

Poetry – The Bubble and the Rubble.

The Bubble and the Rubble.

Behind their gates,

With private security,

Public schools,

And privileged purity,

The elite live in a bubble.

Raking cash in

With great alacrity;

Profiteering

With impunity;

The elite create rubble.

The billionaires have never had it so good. Under the Tory austerity they are flourishing.

The poor get poorer.

The rich get richer.

And the poor are told by the Express, Sun and Mail to blame it on the EU.

Brexit is the perfect deception – a fog obscuring the way the poor are being robbed.

As the schools and hospital decay, peoples pensions are robbed, pay stagnates, zero hours flourishes, low pay is the norm, unions are castrated, crime increases, food banks flourish, homelessness is on the rise, the Tories give tax cuts to the rich and big corporations. The rich get fat on the wreckage of society.

But do they care?

Behind their gated security, in their penthouses, mingling with their rich chums, they are separated from the devastation left in their wake.

Poetry – There’s a Tax Loophole

There’s a Tax Loophole

There’s a tax loophole on the other side of town

It’s a glorious wormhole you can throw your money down.

You can send it through, on transfer or fax,

And there by magic – you don’t pay any tax!

You can declare yourself to be a company,

And lo and behold, you can live tax-free.

There’s only one catch as far as I can see,

To access this wormhole you have to be wealthy!

We need roads, bridges and trains. We need the infrastructure that fuels the economy. We need schools and hospitals, police, army and welfare. We just don’t want to pay for it.

Yet many of us don’t.

While ordinary people receive tax bills calculated down to the last penny; with draconian penalties for those who default, others of us pay a nominal sum if any.

Tax is optional for the rich!

It brought it home to me when I read the articles about Wayne Rooney and the cast of the dreadful show Mrs Brown. They were squirrelling millions off-shore and paying less tax than me.

Firstly it made me question why we are paying millions to people like this and secondly it made me wonder how anyone can justify the fact that these sportsmen, celebrities, executives and bankers can find loopholes to avoid paying tax.

I think it’s obscene!!

The games the wealthy play!

The system is set up by the wealthy for the benefit of the wealthy.
