Brexit has proved to be the disaster we predicted.

It has certainly shaken my faith in democracy. We had a decision made by the uninformed, easily led, xenophobes, racists and the most stupid. It mirrors the support and election of Trump.

Social media, led by those with clearly vested interests (people like Farage, Johnson and Rees-Mogg who all made a killing) ran a campaign based on fear, division and the undermining of experts, that successfully divided the country, empowered the most unpleasant factions, cost us a fortune and has completely broken the country.

This was the same template created by Trump and the far-right populist MAGA movement.

They galvanise the uneducated and deprived and somehow convince them that a billionaire living in a lavish, gaudy mansion with gold toilets cares about them. They still cannot see this grifter is simply making money – $5 billion so far – while employing his extended family in a business that rivals the mafia.

Likewise in the UK, the same people from the same social strata have been convinced to put their faith in a merchant banker multimillionaire who is busily lining his own pockets while drumming up scare stories, racism and xenophobia for his own ends.

It’s not migrants who are breaking the country – it’s billionaires, millionaires and social media magnates!! We are being duped!

All the issues so vehemently denied by Brexiteers and scurrilously labelled ‘Project Fear’ have come to pass. The shortages of HGV, the delays, the tariffs, the extra costs, the staff shortages, the Northern Ireland problems, the rising prices, the shortages of goods, the loss of expertise, the huge drop in trade, the difficulty of getting trade agreements. We’ve lost the ease of travel, the ability to live, work and study abroad. Our employment standards have dropped, salaries have dropped, and environmental standards and food standards have dropped.

They disguised the effects with Covid. It was all a pack of slogans and lies.

Taking back control has merely passed power to a bunch of incompetent nationalist extremists who have taken over the Tory Party.

Parliament is back. After a Summer of recess, MPs have returned. So why is solving the Brexit crisis not on the agenda? 

The government’s hard Brexit has led to empty shelves, medicine shortages, and a lack of key workers. It has seen a collapse in UK exports to the EU and a ballooning trade deficit. And these aren’t just statistics. This means rising prices, struggling businesses, and yet another blow to our recovery from Covid. 

Even amid this mess of its own creation, the government is proposing no real solutions.

As the food rots in the fields, the supermarket shelves are empty, prices soar, goods can’t be bought, we drown in red tape and we are being ruled by a clown backed by a bunch of sleazy tossers who make Ghenghis Khan seem like a pussycat, at least we’re not under the thumb of the EU!!

Wouldn’t it have been nice if they had been honest and said – this is the price you will pay for wresting our sovereignty back from the EU and giving it to a bunch of self-serving Eton twats:

Higher prices

shortages of goods

Job losses

lousy trade deals

Enormous hit to the economy

Louse environmental costs of shipping stuff around the world

Firms shutting down

Companies fleeing into Europe

Fishermen hit hard

Farmers hit hard

Massive increase in red tape

Musicians and performers stopped from playing in Europe

Students unable to study/work and travel

Work opportunities restricted

Lower standards

Lower wages and worse conditions

Enormous costs (in tens of billions setting up customs, lorry parks and duplicating all the stuff done in collaboration)

Shortages of workers for hospitals, care homes, fruit and veg pickers, lorry drivers, hotels, restuarants……..

Shipping in workers from India and Africa.

But, of course, all that was PROJECT FEAR!!! It would never happen!!

And all hidden up in the smokescreen of COVID!!!

When will we ever learn???

Johnson, Gove and Farage have cost this country tens if not hundreds of billions! They have divided the nation, created hate and fear and split families and friends. They have empowered rabid nationalists, xenophobes and racists and created a nasty grubby country.

They should all be locked up for the lies they told and the mess they have created!!

So this is GLOBAL BRITAIN??? A country where cronies, profiteers and the wealthy make a killing while everyone else is left with decades of austerity.

Well Project Fear is proving to be Project Reality. As predicted Northern Ireland is descending into violence again, Scotland is heading to vote out, firms are fleeing the country or going bust, our freedoms have gone and we’re strangling in red tape. Unemployment will rise, prices will rise and we’ll all be poorer (apart from the Tory profiteers) and we’ll have decades of austerity as we dive down to become a far less powerful and less wealthy nation.

We were told that talking about Brexit leading to the break up of the UK was Project Fear. It looks much more like a reality now.

they are doing their best to undermine Nicola Sturgeon in the same way that they did with Jeremy Corbyn.

Not only is Scotland looking murky ahead but Ireland is in a mess too.

Project Fear???? Job losses, huge costs, firms leaving, companies folding, massive amount of red tape, queues, shortages. Yep – everything in Project Fear is coming true.
