Mowing the Grass in the Middle East

Mowing the Grass

In the Middle East

                They are mowing the grass:

Cutting down minions,

                Eviscerating top brass.

Assassinations and missiles

                Destruction and gore;

Contracts signed

                The plunder of war.

They are throwing dice

                Up in the air.

Where they land

They don’t really care.

Money and power –

The name of the game.

Greed, greed, and more greed,

                Their eternal shame!

Out in the Middle East

They are mowing the grass

Born of religion

Not the first war and won’t be the last.

Follow the money. Who’s making it? Who’s losing it? How many billions has Trump made so far

Poetry – Pulling Plums for the Picking

Pulling Plums for the Picking

Out in Libya, Sudan and Yemen

They’re eating their Christmas pie.

In Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq

We’re all questioning why.

They put in their thumb,

For the pickings are plum;

Selling their guns, their missiles and bombs,

Doing their sums,

And saying what a good boy am I.

Make us all numb,

As you stick in your thumb,

And make

The whole world cry.

So put in a bomb

And pull out a plum

And say

What a good boy am I.

Never,

No never,

No, no, never ever,

Never ever, question why.

The Middle East and Africa is aflame. Militant jihadists, kidnaps, beheadings, bombs, guns and missiles. A terrified population fleeing, cities in ruins and armed militia roaming the streets.

It’s just how they like it.

Plenty money to be made.

Supply both sides with weapons.

Send your contractors in to build up the ruins.

Put your puppets in control and bribe them to deliver.

They put in a bomb and pull out a plum

And say what a good boy am I.

Poetry – The Savagery

The Savagery

The savagery man is capable of

When he believes his cause to be just.

There is no end to his barbarity

When devoured by this lust.

His arrogance breeds belligerence

That leads all the way to war.

His intolerance destroys empathy

To shake morality to the core.

All it takes is outrage,

Religious fanaticism or political zeal.

A charismatic leader’s inspiration

Sparking the reason to kill.

Placing nails inside a bomb.

Slicing off heads with a knife.

Massacring the innocent.

Rewarded with paradise or a child wife.

All in the name of someone’s god

Or a fanatical leader.

Become a torturer

Or propaganda breeder.

It does not take much

To release the savage hate.

A traumatic death

Or promise of a better fate.

Opher – 18.5.2021

I was watching the hatred being stirred up in the Middle East as the Israelis and Palestinians clash.

The rockets soar and the guns crash.

The martyred are used to enrage.

Years and years of humiliations, degradation and abuse.

The evil scum of Hamas harvest that hate and hone it into a weapon. The fanatical Jews treat the Palestinians as sub-humans and seek to kick them out.

Illegal settlements, rocks, knifings and bombs.

What a senseless world we create for ourselves. Rationality goes out the window.

How to fuel extremism!

We see it so clearly – the cynical ploy of A Qaeda, Isis, Boko Haram, the Taliban and Hamas.

Use terror to create fear out of all proportion to the actual threat.

Make your targets spectacular (Two Towers, music concerts, underground).

Make your killings graphic and terrifying – beheadings, bombs stuffed with nails, random missiles.

Try to incite a response that is out of proportion that will create division – invasion, bombings – that will kill civilians.

Create, threat division and deaths.

Offer martyrdom.

Harvest the hatred.

Recruit a new army of recruits eager for revenge.

We see it now with Hamas. They are fueled through the long years of humiliation, racism and prejudice. They grow or fear and hate. Every death, every bit of destruction, every threat, every humiliation and injustice adds to their recruitment drive.

Wars breeds hate and extremism.

It’s a cycle that needs breaking!

War is a breeding ground for extremists.

War traumatises everyone.

The Middle East needs diplomacy, reparation and agreement to create a lasting peace and pull the rug out from under the feet of both Hamas scum and Jewish religious fanatics.

War – Edwin Starr – lyrics about the stupidity of war – there’s always a better way other than violence.

This is from when Soul really did mean Soul. This song was about the Vietnam War but it could have been any conflict. We build things up and we knock them down out of greed, hatred, fear and fanaticism. There seems no end to the violence and cruelty of human beings.

What we need is peace, love, tolerance, freedom, humanity, sharing, and a helping hand. Help build a positive zeitgeist based on brotherhood/sisterhood.

War – by Edwin Starr

War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again, y’all

War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

Ohhh, war, I despise
Because it means destruction
Of innocent lives

War means tears
To thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
And lose their lives

I said, war, huh
Good God, y’all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain’t nothing
But a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Ooooh, war
It’s an enemy to all mankind
The point of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest
Within the younger generation
Induction then destruction
Who wants to die
Aaaaah, war-huh
Good God y’all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it, say it, say it
War, huh
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again y’all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War, it’s got one friend
That’s the undertaker
Ooooh, war, has shattered
Many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean
Life is much to short and precious
To spend fighting wars these days
War can’t give life
It can only take it away

Ooooh, war, huh
Good God y’all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again

War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me

War, it ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Peace, love and understanding
Tell me, is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there’s got to be a better way

Ooooooh, war, huh
Good God y’all
What is it good for
You tell me
Say it, say it, say it, say it

War, huh
Good God y’all
What is it good for
Stand up and shout it
Nothing

The Middle East and war.

I was positive that dropping bombs on people in the Middle East was going to recruit people who wanted to do the same to us.

Not that I condone those actions.

I never thought going to war, legal or otherwise, was a good idea.

They’ve come over here with their bombs and they’re trying to bend our will and make us believe their beliefs. We’ve got our own and we’re not interested in their beliefs. We’re going to fight for our beliefs and our way of life. Whatever they do or however they try to impose their will on us we’ll never give in and we’ll fight to the last man.

That’s what they’ll be saying in Baghdad about us.
