It’s November 5th. The fireworks are happening in the USA this year!

They’ll be bonfires in the Capitol if Trump gets his way!

All around the world Trump’s philosophy resounds! Nazi philosophy – walls and tariffs – isolationism and sucking up to despots and tyrants.

This is either the age of the Nazi or the era when we put the lid on this hideousness.

The evangelists are in the wings with their Project 2025. They want women back in shackles.

It’s either back to the cruel hypocritical puritanism of the 18th century (with its brothels and men’s clubs and women in chains) or it’s forward to a joyful 21st century!

We’ll see.

Joy not Living Death

Give me wonder

I wrote this for ISIS and all religious fundamentalists.

I do not believe that life and joy can be spelt out in a doctrine. Life is sacred in a different way.

We do not have life and worship death. We have life to cavort in the wonder and majesty of a universe of marvel.

I do not believe in any joyless god who demands such mundane worship that it strangles the spirit. My sacred is in the sunset, the gorge, the mountain and tree – the things that raise the spirit and allow the mind to soar.

My wonder does not create hatred. It is not cruel. Neither does it make me virtuous or superior and reduce others to the level of worthless scum.

I want the ecstasy of now not the empty promise of some paradise.

I do not believe in paradise. Neither do I believe that any terror would open up those gates even if one did exist.

Those holy books of dead words betray life. They give the lie to all that lives and rob the world of majesty.

My holy is in life. My holy is real.

Give me wonder

Give me wonder –

I do not need your routine.

Do not break things down –

Build them up!

The sum is greater than the parts.

So fill me up

With discovery!

Celebrate!

Don’t drown me in hate

Or fill me, moribund,

With dead words

From days gone by.

Beneath the layers of the mundane

Levels of intrigue,

We live a lie we believe.

                The invisible power struggle go on unseen.

Bacteria floating on a thin skin over a cauldron of lava.

The cynical underworld,

                Covert operations,

                                Manipulations of the state.

                                                Power games.

Black ops,

                Lawlessless.

                                Tyranny and control.

Civilisation a veneer.

In an illusory stability.

We live a precarious existence; fragile creatures on the thin skin of the earth’s crust. Underneath us is an ocean of molten lava.

That crust splits, tears, erupts and shifts pouring forth fire, shaking the world apart and creating tsunamis.

The fault lines are not merely physical.

As we eat our Weetabix and prepare to pick up the newspaper gangsters are running protection rackets, planning raids, extorting, pimping, dealing and killing in a billion dollar industries.

Political and religious terrorists are plotting, The CIA, police and covert groups are running operations.

Governments are deploying tactics, troops and undercover operations.

We live ‘normal’ lives in the midst of vast power and intrigue.

The Taliban

All extremism disturbs me – whether it’s religious or political! It is a disease!

Fanatics are not rational. We saw it with Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin, St Paul, Christians, Muslims and Hindus. We even see it with Buddhists in Myanmar.

We see it with Trump, Bolsonaro and Johnson.

Fanaticism is evil. I oppose it fanatically.

I am a liberal. I believe in tolerance and freedom. I am an atheist. A person should be free to choose, not coerced or indoctrinated; free to practice their own religion or politics – but not free to impose it on others!!

What really pisses me off about these fanatical religious groups – and I include American Evangelicals, Hindu nationalists, Irish Catholics and Protestants, the Taliban, Boko Haram, A Qaeda, Wahhabis and all other religious sects who would impose and enforce, is their certainty, intolerance and viciousness. It’s arrogant beyond belief!

The Taliban are particularly pernicious. They, like other extreme Muslim groups, would not only impose their extreme beliefs on others but would torture and kill over minor infringements. They use barbaric practices of public beheadings, stonings and extreme whippings to induce fear and impose their strict laws.

Their extreme interpretation of religious texts results in a life that is sterile and abusive – worse than anything in medieval times. Some of their practices are obscene:

Beheadings

Stonings

Floggings

Insisting on prayer for men in the mosque 5 times a day

Insisting on beards

Banning females from public life

Banning female education

Forcing women into burkas in public

Forcing women to obey their husbands

Allowing abuse of women by husbands

Insisting on strict dress codes

Banning television

Banning music

Wanton destruction of all art and statues not conforming to their religious values………………..

This is a doctrine that does not go back to the stone-age. Our stone-age ancestors enjoyed music, art and had a rich culture.

This is so austere, such an infringement of human rights, that it requires opposing in every way possible.

I am personally opposed to violence and war, opposed to occupation and suppression, but I would be in favour of a strong UN force going in to protect the rights of women and all those who do not wish to abide to these strict religious mores.

And that throws into question all those other regions of the world where religious and political regimes inflict their strict rules on people and take away their human rights.

Saudi? Oman? Russia? China? The Maldives……….

The list is long.

The UN was set up to support human rights and freedoms across the planet!! I support those ideals!!

Ode to a Fundamentalist

If he had a woman she’d not be allowed to think

He’d keep her shackled to the kitchen sink.

When not popping babies she’d clean up the house

Then sit looking pretty as still as a mouse.

She’d have to obey his every whim

For as is obvious she’s not really equal to him.

And as for the faggots and those perverted by porn

He’d have them rounded up to be shot at dawn.

The wanking police would be knocking at your door

Checking for spills so they could give you what for.

Those that were guilty of teaching sex ed

Would be tortured and maimed until better off dead.

And as for the commies, those who crave equality

Death is too good for you, them and me.

And as for the stoners – those that get out of their head

There’s another group who’d be better off dead.

So round them up with the queers, sluts and wogs

Kick ‘em and lash them

They’re worse than stray dogs.

When he was all through and had cleaned up the perverse,

Using archaic texts in Arabic verse,

He’d proclaim the world free of perversion and sin –

Herald a new age and usher it in.

He would be King of the whole damned world

And all nature would die as his plans unfurled;

For the scientists all lie – there’s no extinction rate

And as for the climate – that’s going just great!

He knows that god wrote the words from his realm up in space

And gave them to us cos we’re such a disgrace.

So stone all the women and bash out baby brains,

Wage war on the infidel who are obviously insane.

They believe the wrong words from the wrong book

So bomb them to bits and hang them from hooks.

But the new age is the past in his universe

Where superstition rules with lessons so terse.

Rules that were written thousands of years gone

Now applied to the letter to right every wrong.

In his universe it’s all white and black

You do as you’re told and don’t dare answer back.

For in the new age we’ll all be white male

With a society like that you just cannot fail!

No room for inferiors or the depraved

They’ll all be wiped out or rightly enslaved.

They’ll be no point in arguing – no ifs and no buts

But fortunately ….. we all see …….. that he is just nuts!!

I wrote this for a particular religious nutcase who writes on a forum I contribute to. It is an accurate picture of what the guy believes. These people actually manage to get themselves in positions of power where they inflict their horrendous fundamentalist views on the rest of us.

Their misogyny, homophobia, racism and religious intolerance is scary.

This is the type of thing Margaret Atwood wrote The Handmaid’s Tale about.

They are real.

How to fuel extremism!

We see it so clearly – the cynical ploy of A Qaeda, Isis, Boko Haram, the Taliban and Hamas.

Use terror to create fear out of all proportion to the actual threat.

Make your targets spectacular (Two Towers, music concerts, underground).

Make your killings graphic and terrifying – beheadings, bombs stuffed with nails, random missiles.

Try to incite a response that is out of proportion that will create division – invasion, bombings – that will kill civilians.

Create, threat division and deaths.

Offer martyrdom.

Harvest the hatred.

Recruit a new army of recruits eager for revenge.

We see it now with Hamas. They are fueled through the long years of humiliation, racism and prejudice. They grow or fear and hate. Every death, every bit of destruction, every threat, every humiliation and injustice adds to their recruitment drive.

Wars breeds hate and extremism.

It’s a cycle that needs breaking!

War is a breeding ground for extremists.

War traumatises everyone.

The Middle East needs diplomacy, reparation and agreement to create a lasting peace and pull the rug out from under the feet of both Hamas scum and Jewish religious fanatics.

Torturing for pleasure,

In vain hope of paradise.

If only Karma were real.

Ignorant Savages

I wrote this following the spate of disgusting murders in Bangladesh carried out by barbaric, uncivilised, ignorant religious fanatics in the name of Islam.

They have taken to hacking people to death with machetes.

They feel it is their religious duty to kill all who do not believe in what they believe.

So far they have brutally hacked to death secular bloggers, university lecturers, westerners, people of other faiths, gays and people who have given up Islam.

In their eyes they are justified to mete out this inhuman punishment because god demands it through the selected texts they chose to twist.

They are planning to hack their way through 6.7 billion of us.

I do not understand this insane logic of intolerance, arrogance and cruelty. These insane imbeciles have no doubts and show no mercy.

They include the uneducated and brainwashed.

There is no place in the modern world for such depraved monsters from the Dark Ages. They blacken the name of Islam and religion. Their arrogant fundamentalist intolerance needs stamping out by the twin powers of the gun and education.

No sane god would tolerate such depravity or reward their viciousness.

If there is a god or karma they will all rot in hell.

The bravery and courage necessary to take on school children or attack a café is unbelievable.

Do we now have to have armed security guards in our Old People’s homes or Kindergartens?

There is a serious moral deficit in these people. Their brutality and mercilessness demonstrate the hollowness of their religious beliefs. They are sick.
