The BBC and Far-Right control

I have a problem with BBC bias. It started many years ago when I saw a deliberate editorial decision at the time of the Miners’ Strike to reverse the sequence of events at the Orgreave coke plant.

The nine o’clock news showed this:

Miners rioting and hurling rocks at the police. Police lines opening and mounted police pacifying rioting miners.

A late-night Channel 4 programme showed a long uncut shot of what really happened:

The miners were sitting around having their packed lunches. One miner was walking along the police line taunting them. Police line opened. Mounted police began attacking the miners with truncheons and trampling them with horses. Injured, bloodied miners, furious at what had happened grabbed rocks and attacked the police.

The BBC had reversed the action and completely reversed what had happened giving a completely wrong impression of what had taken place. Clear support of Thatcher and her right-wing policies.

Over the years I have witnessed many examples of right-wing bias yet I hear the right labelling it as left-wing and woke. Absolutely ridiculous.

At the moment they are all over Farage giving him endless free coverage but never truly challenging him over his policies, far-right Trumpist affiliations or ridiculous salary from far-right connections.

Then we have Trump being used to batter the BBC accusing it of fake news and being woke. What bollocks.

The BBC edited a speech Trump made when he was openly inciting far-right groups like The Proud Boys to come to the Capitol and fight. I’ve watched it all. IMO he was trying to steal the election and inciting violence. He should be in jail. At very least he should have been tried in court.

The edit may well have created a slightly different impression but I doubt it. The evidence was clear. The programme as a whole was extremely fair. It gave air to all views and impressions.

When a politician makes a speech is it mandatory that any reporting of that speech is the whole speech in its entirety or are ALL speeches edited? TV, radio and newspapers all show tiny excerpts from speeches, never its entirety. Nearly always these excerpts represent the bias of the media and as nearly all the media is owned by wealthy tycoons it presents a biased right-wing view. I’m used to that.

Did the BBC misrepresent Trump and defame him? I don’t think that’s even possible. He incited riots, lies every time he opens his mouth and spreads fake news and conspiracy.

I know that if I read the Express, Mail, Telegraph, Times or Sun I’m getting a dose of propaganda. Perhaps they need suing for billions.

Now if you want to hear clear defamation you need to hear Trump and his mouthpiece Bullshit Barbie saying in press conferences that the BBC is a purveyor of fake news and is corrupt. That is what real defamation looks like. I’d sue him for billions and take the pressure off the licence paying public.

This is a right-wing attempt to bring down free speech and control the media! The Tories loaded the BBC with right-wing sycophants now they are trying to destroy it.

I have my gripes with the BBC but at least it’s less biased than other right-wing sources like GB News!!

The same is now happening to the BBC – it is going to face constant attack until it becomes a shadow of what it was. Who will this benefit? The war of media control is what we in the US have lost, and what you in the UK seem to be willing to lose. And for what?

I cannot be alone in thinking that the BBC has strong grounds to countersue President Trump and his press secretary. To call the BBC “100% fake news” and its journalists “corrupt” looks, on the face of it, defamatory. The reputational damage must be immense if unchallenged.

Just like GB News we have a TV network catering to the brain damaged, specialising in pouring out right-wing rhetoric and propaganda.

How Goebbels would have loved to have had his own TV network!

The words of Trump and other extreme right-wing fanatics is poured out in an endless stream of brain-washing garbage.

They undermine the institutions – the government is corrupt. The media lie. Scientists lie and are in the pay of Bib Business.

They undermine the truth – there is no global warming (it’s a con), vaccination kills, covid was a con.

They scapegoat and deflect – the poverty and hardship, decay and economy is not the result of scamming by the wealthy; it’s all the fault of immigrants and scroungers – build walls, round they up and cut welfare! (Whatever you do don’t tax billionaires in case they run away!)

The only truth is theirs.

These fascist self-servers aim to plant the seeds of discontent and hate, undermine stability and use the hate and division for their own ends.

It began as a poem of despair. We have our elections but they are limited and controlled. We get a limited choice with not much to choose. The candidates are carefully selected. The information controlled.

We are manipulated, controlled and herded. Our protests are orchestrated. The system prevails.

The same few pull the strings and determine the outcome. We elect their choices.

When the dust has settled the same people are in charge; the same people profit.

The same people suffer. The same people pay.

Every now and then there is a revolt.

Losing all faith in Democracy

I don’t really want democracy at all. I’ve had it!

How, in a modern world of such incredible complexity, can the average person be expected to make ant kind of informed decision??

When half of the population have an IQ below average (below 100) how can they be expected to understand the really difficult issues?

When the education system fails to inform or create thinking individuals how can they weigh up the possibilities?

When we have a media and social media churning out misinformation, conspiracy and propaganda that ignorant people accept as fact how can democracy work?

When we have billionaires pulling the strings and creating a corrupt system, manipulating peoples’ views how can we have democracy?

Democracy depends on having intelligent, well-informed individuals, debating, researching and coming to informed decisions.

What we have is an unintelligent population, largely uneducated, blinded with religion, inflamed with racism and nationalism, manipulated by powerful politicians and billionaires, voting for their own impoverishment and imprisonment.

Having seen the way the population was swayed towards Brexit, Trump, Farage and Johnson (Oban, Meloni, Bolsonaro and Wilders) I am losing all hope.

Democracy is a sham.

We are being controlled by a small elite of greedy, selfish billionaires.

The whole world is being run for the benefit of a few!

How on earth can democracy recover from billionaire take-over?

Social media is the game-changer.

It has become the tool of extreme right-wing fascist billionaires.

Not only are people like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg bankrolling right-wing populists like Trump and Farage and getting openly involved in politics, but they are using their social media platforms to manipulate elections.

By spreading a constant stream of lies, conspiracy and disinformation, undermining experts, opposition politicians and generating fear, distrust and hate, they are actively undermining the very tenets of democracy.

They now use their algorithms to target people and play on their fears. This is brazen psychological manipulation on a massive scale.

By siding with the extreme right-wing evangelical movement, right-wing organisations like the National Rifle Association, climate deniers, vaccination deniers, white supremacists and other conspiracy nutcases, they have forged a conglomeration of lunatics that has become large enough to be electable.

All it took was to raise fears on immigration and racist unease about being displaced, coupled with lies about the economy, to create an unholy alliance.

Somehow they have convinced poor people that billionaires care about them. This is patently nuts. These billionaires are simply greedy monstrosities who are intent on profiteering.

The real problem is not immigrants making people poor; it’s billionaires not paying enough tax. That should be obvious. These greedy profiteers are fleecing poor people.

It is quite shocking the misery they are prepared to cause to make even more money!

The question is – how do we save democracy from these evil people? (and they are evil!)

Freedom of Speech

With Musk, Trump and Farage all thundering on about FREEDOM OF SPEECH I thought I’d like to wade in.

I’m all in favour of freedom of speech.

I am against censorship.

I don’t want to see anybody shut up or deprived of a platform.

I want to be free to comment on politics and religion without limit.

Freedom of speech is essential in a civilised country.

Freedom of speech is necessary in a democracy.

No religion or politician should be above being given a good dollop of criticism or even abuse.

I am in favour of causing offence! Indeed, I enjoy causing offence to all those I despise – religious bigots, right-wing zealots, political nutcases, despots, misogynists, racists and their ignorant supporters should all be fair game.

However – the likes of Trump, Farage, Banion and Musk are not really talking about FREEDOM OF SPEECH. They want the right to spread outright lies as fact, to spread propaganda as news and to brainwash the gullible with misinformation. They want the right to distort and spread conspiracy. They was to discredit science and rational thought, fact and figures and replace it with their own deliberately untruthful fake news. Ironically, if they receive criticism they are the first to shriek ‘FAKE NEWS!!’ That is real irony.

Now I don’t mind opinion. I express enough of that. I don’t mind evidence being put forward to debate. But I do think that all information put forward as ‘Fact’ show be truth tested! I do believe that the blatant lies put out by Trump, Banion, Farage, Musk and the like (with clear political intent) should be fact tested and called out. I believe that Twitter, GB News and Fox News (along with the likes of the Express, Mail and Sun) are nothing more than lying propaganda machines pumping out a stream of lies and propaganda. That’s my opinion.

Musk is now wading in to British politics with his war on Labour. That’s not freedom of speech – that’s political interference from a snotty spoilt brat of a billionaire! The profiteering, self-promoting bastard should keep his nose out and stop trying to cause division and hate!!

Fuck Musk!! Fuck Trump!! And Fuck Farage!!

Mind you, the billionaires did very well indeed!

In the grubby world of politics, where deception is the nature of the game and there are no rules, the charade has descended to a new all-time low.

Hypocrisy rules.

In this nightmare world the swamp talks about draining the swamp.

Greedy billionaires scramble to convince the masses that they have their interests at heart while cynically exploiting them for every penny they can get.

Fairness and justice, empathy and compassion, are just words to be treated with contempt and disdain.

Greed rules.

There are no rules.

Lies, deception, misinformation and fake news are the weapons of choice.

Confuse, direct and rule.

Weaponise the truth.

Tax evasion is a laudable enterprise in the land of survival of the richest. Sex crimes are not only acceptable but a badge of office.

Truth is absent. Belief is optional.

The faithful are in a trance and perform their circus tricks to order.

This is the age of post-truth where science and intelligent, rational thought has been replaced with superstition and conspiracy.

Populists detest solid ground. They are denizens of the real swamp!

How to design a successful Conspiracy!

Always start with a sound, substantiated fact and extrapolate it out into the absurd or focus down on one controversial detail and blow it up out of all proportion; treat supposition or ambiguity as fact. Repeat, repeat repeat.

So –

  1. The Democrats are controlling the weather. Take the instance of seeding clouds to make rain. This is a scientifically sound technique that has been successfully carried out many times. Various particles can be used – silver iodide, potassium iodide, and dry ice or even salt. It has to be used on existing clouds to create rain or snow. You can’t seed thin air.

Then take a long-established conspiracy theory – the RAF seeding clouds in 1952 being responsible for the tragic Lynmouth floods (unconfirmed and controversial) – and run with it.

Then apply the conspiracy to modern day – ‘if they could do that in 1952 just think what they could do now?’ So the recent spate of hurricanes (fueled by global warming) were deliberately created by Biden and the Democrats to disrupt the election in Republican areas (conveniently ignoring the fact that the sparsely populated, rural areas of the Southern States just happen to be where hurricanes strike – due to climate and geography).

We have a viable conspiracy!

2. There was no Moon landing! Take the footage of the moon landings that appear to show the American flag, they stuck into the ground, fluttering. There is no atmosphere on the moon so the whole thing was staged in a Hollywood film studio. Ignore all other explanations. Ignore the much tested moon rocks, film of returning capsule, tracking by Russia etc. Persist with fluttering flag. It’s a hoax.

3. The Holocaust never happened. Focus on statements from holocaust denying historians who claim to have photographic evidence of doors that prove they weren’t ovens. Ignore all witness statements, survivor statements, detailed German Nazi documentation and photographic/film documentation. Claim it is a hoax created by Jews who presently control the world (based on so many Jews being wealthy bankers and businessmen). It feeds into the anti-Semitic story. They are looking to rule the world, already control everything and made it all up in order to gain sympathy.

4. The CIA blew up the Twin Towers. Some of the buildings seemed to go down in a controlled manner like in a planned demolition. Focus on the uncanny way the buildings went down. Highlight any reports concerning the structure of the buildings and how the fire from the planes could not have downe this. Look for an alternative. Obviously it was the CIA planting explosives (not the planes at all). It was all planned. They wanted to go to war with Iraq and needed an excuse.

The earth is flat. Of course it is. You can see it. All the photos are a hoax.

Evolution is nonsense. Obviously god made everything perfectly.

Social Media is great at spreading and magnifying conspiracy. There is always someone, some ‘fact’ that can be brought to bear. We are being hoodwinked. Only stupid, gullible, brainwashed people can’t see it.

MAGA and Trump are masters at spreading and using these conspiracies to undermine science, experts and the opposition. They are up to no good.

The sad thing is that they are up to no good but not in the way being portrayed! The real, underlying, establishment position is long established, firmly grounded and is no conspiracy. The wealthy run the world. Trump and Musk are the biggest culprits. That’s the irony!
