Current Sci-fi writing projects.

I’ve just started mapping out another novel in this series – You Might Say That.

I’m busy writing a Rock book on Ian Dury at the mo. When I’ve completed that I’ll write the Sci-fi novel.

I’ve already produced five new Sci-fi novels based in the same setting:

Terra 3

The Scrolls of Pandora 3

DremeWorld

A Message From Hermes

Ghenghis Smith

I thought I had finished plumbing the depths of possibilities – but I was wrong. A new angle has opened up in my head. I can feel the embryo of a new novel beginning to germinate. I’m allowing it to fester for a bit as I have a lot of things on at the moment and still require a few more strands. It’ll be all the better for a longer gestation.

I am looking for a publisher at the moment for these five novels. I think they deserve a good, caring home.

I am starting to plot the sixth!

Current Writing Projects.

Right now I am juggling a number of writing projects:

The Beatles: White Album – Rock Classics Paperback – 29 Aug. 2024

Tomorrow is the launch day for the release of the book. I’m busy creating a few posts to publicise it. I’m not very good at publicising.  I hope the publisher is better at it than me.

Phil Ochs – Every Album, Every Song (On Track)

Leonard Cohen – Every Album, Every Song (On Track)

Ghenghis Smith – A Sci-fi novel

The Death Diaries

The Next Poetry Book

The Next Sonicbond project

Another couple of minutes of Joe Solo giving it his all.

I like all kinds of music but I have a particular penchant for music with passion, social content and meaning!! Joe does it for me!!

Current projects – 8 writing projects.

In search of Captain Beefheart cover

I like to keep a few balls in the air at the same time. I think it stops me from getting too stale. I get excited by new ideas. Currently I am working on 8 projects and am at various stages with all of them.

Project 1 – Nick Harper – The Wilderness Years

This takes precedence over everything else. I have written the first draft and now need to hone it into shape for publication in January. Nick is coming down tomorrow and we will paw over it in depth.

The idea is for this book to be a companion with the three album retrospective that Nick is putting out.

I like the first draft. The structure seems to have worked and Nick sounds happy with it. He has changed the songs though, so there is a bit to do.

We’ll knock it into shape. It’s exciting!

Project 2 – My third poetry anthology. I am slowly adding to this and building up the anthology. As each poem is a stand alone I can focus on this project in stages.

Project 3 – Rock On – an interesting idea I had for showing the whole development of Rock Music from the inside – from the point of view of the muse who is an active participant. I’m enjoying this.

Project 4 – Ruminating on Roy Harper – I have completed the first draft and sent it off to Roy. He said he’d write an introduction. But as he has other things on his mind he hasn’t got round to reading it yet let alone writing the intro. I’m hoping he will soon. Then I can redraft and publish.

Project 5 – Zero to Infinity. I’m rewriting one of my early Sci-fi novels. It only exists as a typed manuscript. I’m doing my one-finger typing job to rewrite it. I’m doing a lot of revision as I go along. It’s quite intriguing. I’m on page 42 out of 407. So there is a way to go yet.

Project 6 – Rock Genres – I’ve started doing this and putting some up on the blog. It’s the sort of project you can do in spurts as the mood takes me.

Project 7 – Anecdotes – I started putting out anecdotes on my blog. I will put these together largely for my own amusement. Once again it is the kind of thing I can do in stages as the mood hits.

Project 8 – The Tenement – Is another of those bio/novels. It concerns a block of bedsits that I lived in from 1971-1974. I have all the characters mapped out and a story beginning to gel. It’s going to need a lot of planning and mapping before I’ve got it into shape to begin writing. But I like what I see in my head.

That’s it! It keeps me busy!

Hopefully you’ll start to see the fruits of it all soon!
