Over ten weeks in isolation now – only another twenty years to go!!

I’m so glad that the government has got it all under control! I see China is now Covid-free. No new cases in New Zealand as the USA approached 97,000 deaths!! Brazil has record number of new cases!

Here Cummings is on the run after blatantly disobeying the very laws he introduced. If the Tories have a shred of integrity they’ll fire him!!

Today I’ve been playing the soothing tones of John Renbourn. Fabulous.

I walked up the hill. The wind was still blowing a gale. Everywhere were leaves and branches. The trees looked battered. Nature is angry.

On the writing front I have just published Green as a Ron Forsythe book. It is in the process of being published. I’m just finishing the cover of Star and that will be out too in the next week.

That will about complete my Ron Forsythe series of Sci-fi. I will then focus on my new Ron Forsythe blog and then look to secure a literary agent or publishing house. I have enough of a catalogue to be of interest. Anybody know of a good Literary Agent or Publisher??

Still feeling a bit jaded. I’m off to read for a bit!!

A Second Referendum – the final decision.

Now we know more about what is involved with Brexit I think it is only right that we have a democratic say. As there are a number of options I would suggest that instead of a binary decision we allow the people to decide what flavour we prefer.

I suggest a referendum based on the following:

a. A complete break from the EU.

b. We break with the political union but stay within the Single Market and Customs Union.

c. We break with the political union but stay within the Single Market.

d. We break with the political union but stay within the Customs Union.

e. We remain within the EU.

I think that might give us a better idea of the thinking of the British people. What do you think?

The Times – Donald Tusk calls for second Brexit referendum

An article in The Times focuses on a speech by Donal Tusk in which he calls for Britain to have a second referendum.

He said that : “Our hearts are still open for you” 

‘Donald Tusk has called on Britain to reverse the decision to leave the European Union with a second referendum or a House of Commons vote on the final Brexit deal.

The president of the European Council made his appeal as pressure grows on MPs to press for a second referendum or to reject a withdrawal agreement.

Yesterday a group of senior MPs, including Tory rebels, lobbied officials in Brussels for a positive EU response to the possibility of a Commons vote rejecting Brexit.

Mr Tusk quoted an anti-EU speech made by David Davis, the secretary of state for Brexit, over five years ago in which he said democracy ceases if parliament or voters are unable to reverse decisions.’

The Tories are still backing themselves into a corner. They have locked themselves in the Keep and pulled up the drawbridge. The mood of the country has changed. People have woken up to the huge costs we will pay and the impoverishment of the country.

The bright future touted by the Brexiteers was a lie.

I agree with David Davis – democracy does cease if voters are unable to reverse decisions!

It’s not too late!! We need a second referendum!! Brexit is a disaster for Britain. The Tories are making a right mess of things.

We need a second Referendum!

Democracy isn’t a one-off!!

Now we know more about what is entailed we deserve the right to change our mind! That’s democracy!!

Brexit – A huge shift in Public Attitudes – Big majority in favour of staying in! LET’S HAVE A SECOND REFERENDUM!!!!

If Brexiteers are so confident that they are right why not put it to the test? If Democracy rules then let’s have a vote! Democracy does not stop with one vote. Circumstances have changed. Now we can see what is involved people have woken up. Public opinion has shifted. There is a clear staggering 10% majority for staying in the EU!!

WE NEED A SECOND REFERENDUM!!!

WE NEED DEMOCRACY!!!

It is not too late to save the fate of Britain. Even at this late stage there is hope. We do not have to allow the Extreme Right to ram Brexit down our throats. People are waking up to the reality of the Right-Wing nightmare.

  • The dramatic fall in sterling has increased inflation by 3%
  • Economic Growth is appalling. We are now third from bottom in the world.
  • Already our NHS has the worst staff shortage ever
  • There is similar staffing shortages in education, care homes, catering, construction and agriculture
  • Theresa May has bought some respite for her position first by bribing the DUP with a billion pound bonanza and then by bribing Europe with a staggering £50 billion.
  • Banking and business has already started relocating abroad in droves. It will leave the country a great deal poorer.
  • Hate crime has risen dramatically
  • Austerity will last forever

All this was completely predictable. But the worst is yet to come. If we actually go all this will get far worse.

But democracy is not yet dead.

There has been, according to the latest Independent Poll, a dramatic shift in attitude. Millions are realising that they made a big mistake:

A new survey for The Independent showed that 51% of those questioned now back remaining in the EU, while 41% back Brexit.

If that poll is anywhere near correct it would give Remain a 10% lead.

With changes of that magnitude, now that the reality of leaving is becoming clearer by the minute, we should have another Referendum.

Democracy should rule.

It is quite clear that the referendum campaign was run on ignorance and lies. It was a terrible campaign run on division and hate. Now we have the facts we should be able to have another say!!

WE NEED A SECOND VOTE!!!!!
