It never stopped, every time you turned a corner there was a new breath-taking sight, an ornate statue, a painting or a ceremonial soldier. The detail was extraordinary, the colours so bright, the lustre and scale.

I can’t imagine anybody living there though – it’s all for show!

The Royal Palace was massive – with amazing grounds, buildings, decoration, statues and art. So impressive. I couldn’t stop taking photos. There was always something else that was incredibly beautiful.

There were a band of musicians playing in a corner of the palace. I was interested in the instruments. One of the musicians seemed a tad young.

A lot of the palace was in severe disrepair and was being renovated for us tourists. Incredible to see though. Some of the detail was exquisite.

Walking around in the grounds of the Royal Palace we came across this amazing arch all delicately decorated with coloured porcelain in the most delicate patterns. A young couple were having their wedding photos taken by it. I can see why. It was spectacular.

The Royal Palace had fallen into disrepair but the Vietnamese was rebuilding history as fast as they could. There were many tourists to satisfy!

I do find these places fascinating despite all that. The art and lavish decoration is fabulous.

Incredibly Strong Warriors Holding the Whole Edifices Up!

I was really taken with these statues of Warriors taking the strain of all the colossal weight of the pillars they were holding up. I thought there was an element of humour in them.
