Out on the Yorkshire Moors.

We had a bit of a hike around. It was warm and sunny but with very atmospheric clouds, big skies, dry stone walls and standing stones!

The Yorkshire Moors in May

I thought I’d continue the theme of where we’ve been these last few weeks. As lockdown has eased up we’ve seen more people and travelled further.

This was a day out on the Yorkshire Moors. There is a great beauty about the moors! Then there are the lapwings and new lambs.

Walk at Whitby – Photos

We had a great walk along the shore near Whitby. The light was wintry and weird.

Yesterday walk at Filey

Filey is a little fishing village on the coast. The sun was shining so we went for a walk During this lockdown we like to do a five to ten mile walk a day. Keeps us sane. I took my camera because I like snapping away at anything that takes my fancy – from tacky seaside touristy stuff, sculptures, empty beach huts, sea fronts, buildings and boats. It’s a beautiful bay. The light was interesting. It was fun.

Bridlington walk

Last Wednesday we went for a walk a Bridlington (our local coastal town). There are a lot of things about Bridlington that are delightful (and some that aren’t). It was a beautiful sunny day. Hardly anybody around. Very Picturesque. There were a lot of interesting seabirds – waders and stone turns. I managed to get a few shots.

Yorkshire Dales – Ribble Valley wonders, waterfalls and evening glows.

Walking out and about in the Ribble Valley is magical. In the midst of Nature. Up the mountains tomorrow!!

More Photos from Sutton Banks.

It was such a beautiful day. The light was perfect. The clarity was great.

Ravenscar to Robin Hood’s Bay walk in sunny Yorkshire.

There is nowhere better for a walk on a sunny day between Ravenscar and Robin Hood’s Bay in Yorkshire! Brilliant. Cliffs, hang-gliders, pubs, wild boggles, murals, beaches, animals and scenery – with misty seascapes! Perfectomento!!

Wharram Percy walk – Yorkshire Autumn beauty – photos

Today we went for a walk to Wharram Percy – about six miles. We set off early in an interesting light – pastel colours on the horizon. the Autumn colours are painting the trees. It was overcast but interesting. Occasionally the sun broke through.

The red berries were out on the hawthorn.

There were pheasants everywhere.

Wharram Percy is a deserted Medieval village. The remains of the church is the most visible building. The pond was beautiful with great reflections.

We were up on top of the Wolds – by Fairy Dale and Deep Dale. Great names for great places.

What do you think?

Yorkshire fields in the evening sunlight with storm clouds.

We went for a walk with the grandchildren yesterday. The evening sun was casting its yellow spell and storm clouds in the background looked magnificent.

Here’s a few photos:
