Brazil – Walking through a fishing village on the Amazon.

We walked up the trail to a smaller village on the tributary. There were murals on the walls of some of the stilted huts. Some huts were gaily painted. We found a sloth up a tree.

Camara De Lobos – walking around a Madeiran fishing village – photos.

I kept trying to imagine what the place would have looked like a couple of hundred years ago. It would have had seals back then and instead of being quaint with its nice blue boats it would have been a working village – full of danger and uncertainty.

Life would have been hard.

Câmara de Lobos. Madeira – photos

We headed off for a short drive to Câmara de Lobos. It is a small bay famous for two things – its seals and Winston Churchill.

All the seals were murdered long ago.

After butchering the troops in Gallipoli Churchill went on to bigger things. He liked to paint to relax and this was a very picturesque village.

Yesterday walk at Filey

Filey is a little fishing village on the coast. The sun was shining so we went for a walk During this lockdown we like to do a five to ten mile walk a day. Keeps us sane. I took my camera because I like snapping away at anything that takes my fancy – from tacky seaside touristy stuff, sculptures, empty beach huts, sea fronts, buildings and boats. It’s a beautiful bay. The light was interesting. It was fun.
