Photography and Travel

We visited in 2011 and climbed the three peaks one after the other (on separate days). We had glorious warm weather and the scenery was stunning. The phots don’t do justice!
Here they are anyway!

From bracket fungi to waterfalls and the panorama of majestic green hills.
One of Yorkshire’s best bowlers!
The true nature of the church is revealed in its lauding of war. Festooned with military flags and stained glass with knights and swords. All about power.
I like the art and architecture though.
Following our walk through the woods we found ourselves walking beside a stream at the side of the castle walls.
Driving around the Dales is stunning!! The Beauty!!
We took a walk through the castle woods down to Skipton. Past the babble brook, the wood anemones, the willowy archer and the psychedelic hens.
We walked up through the woods, away from Bolton Abbey. It was a fine summer day at the very end of August. A beautiful day in Yorkshire. The scenery was superb. We crawl on the skin of a small planet – it’s wonderful. Flowers, trees and roots.
Yorkshire is green and beautiful. When the sun is shining there is nowhere better. The canal wends its way through some amazing scenery. I couldn’t stop taking shots.
The last shot is of where we stayed.
Henry the Eighth had it torn down to take away the power of the church. I like that. Shame that he didn’t tear down the royal palaces too!
I could do without both church and monarchy – both parasites. God, King and Country – no thank you. I prefer to decide what is right for myself. God, King and Country – all artificial constructions thought up out of the minds of men. None of them are real. Their reality is only that we give to them.
What we are left with is beautiful ruins. I love ruins
We walked along the old Roman Road. You could make it out, all the underlying rocks. Quite a feat.
