Surely a day has passed?

The world is a little more complex than a narcissist with the IQ of an ant realises!

Putin is playing him for a fool!

Where are those sanctions? I only see red carpets, clapping, fly pasts and a ride in the limo!

Same as Zelenskii received!

Crazy Maisie

Crazy Maisie

I’m too old to do anything much these days. My joints are too full of arthritis to walk far and my fingers are too gnarled and painful to knit but the fires inside haven’t died. LOL. These days I’m relegated to being a keyboard warrior – at least when the pain in my fingers allows. I don’t hold back. They used to call me ‘Crazy Maisie’. I’m still crazy after all these years!

My Tom didn’t really understand. He put up with me and my crazy ways. He knew I had to do it. Sometimes you have no choice. If something is wrong then you have to do something about it. There is no question. It had to be done.

Tom used to say to me: ‘Maisie Trafford, what do you think you’re doing? Nobody will take the slightest notice of you and those bloody hippies.’ He thought we were all nuts. Poor sod thought that I was abandoning him. Thought I was having some midlife crisis.

They did listen though didn’t they? They had no choice!

Poor old Tom – makes me smile to think of him. He was so confused – one minute furious and the next so sorry for himself. He didn’t understand. He’d been used to having everything done for him and suddenly he had to fend for himself. He soon found out what I’d been contributing though, didn’t he? The kids had left so at least he didn’t have them to look after. I can still picture him in my head, coming back from work to a dark, cold house, laying the fire, cooking a meal and then all the housework, washing and ironing. All he’d done over the years was mow the bloody lawn and then down to the pub for a quick pint before lunch. He soon found out though, didn’t he?

Of course, the kids took pity on him, had him round for meals. John helped him with the DIY and Emily did some tidying and I bet she did his washing and ironing too, bless her. I think they understood that I had to do it. At least they said the right things.

Sometimes I was gone for months. When I came back I was never quite sure of the reception. Tom didn’t know whether to be angry, sarcastic, totally noncommittal or welcome me back with open arms. I’d watch him vacillating with amusement. Silly sod. I think he was secretly proud of me though it would have killed him to admit it. He always came round eventually, even if it did take a few days.

Over the four years I went to the camp he became better. Quite a lot better. I noticed the improvement. When I came back the place looked quite tidy and it didn’t smell anywhere near as bad. The washing up was done. There was food in the fridge and his clothes were put away. He’d learnt to cook, at least a few simple recipes. I guess he’d got fed up with fish and chips and take-aways. He learnt. Over those four years he became quite self-proficient. I noticed I got a less frosty reception.

Towards the end he became openly pleased to see me. Even asked about what we’d been up to and seemed to show an interest. Who’d been arrested, what tricks we’d been trying, who’d been beaten up, who’d done what. He’d been following the protests on the telly and reading about it.

Still thought we were all daft, like;  still told me that it was all pointless. But I could see a grudging respect. He could see the strength growing in me. I could see the way he looked at me. He’d begun to think that we might just get those missiles moved.

We did, didn’t we?

What times we had! If I was a few decades younger I’d be doing it all again! Gaza, Ukraine, Putin and Trump. Global warming. Black Lives Matter.  Women’s Rights. You couldn’t stop me. Even if Tom was still here he’d not stand in my way. Back in 82 I’d found my mojo. I came alive.

I can’t do the marches or climb over the barbed wire but I can still pound the keyboards! No force on earth will stop me! There’s so much to protest about. Those missiles, those four years, the camaraderie, the idealism, opened up something inside me. The indignation flooded through. I couldn’t have held it back if I tried. It’s still there after forty years. I don’t think it’ll ever die down now. These days I pour it all on to the web. There’s a little group of us old grey warriors. We may be grey on the outside but we’re full of rainbows in our heads. We won’t give up!

I don’t believe a word of what the establishment say. They lie. A bunch of warmongering self-servers who don’t understand about life at all, about comradeship, sharing and how beautiful it all could be if they weren’t so damn greedy. I don’t believe a word.

The future has to be fought for. We can’t let them get away with it.

What memories I have to sustain me. I have my comradeship. We’re still together.

The Nobel Peace Prize

Now let me see:

Promised no wars – blamed Biden for wars.

Promised to end Ukraine war in 1 day (then backed Putin and his invasion, offered Putin half of Ukraine and no NATO membership before they’d even started negotiating, Putin laughed in his face. Ambushed Zelenskii in the Whitehouse and is still no closer. All he’s achieved is to empower Putin to continue his invasion.

Backed Netanyahu who then escalated his attrition of Gaza bombing, starving and harassing civilians. He turned a bad situation into a catastrophe.

Now he’s attacking Iran. Bearing in mind that he withdrew the Obama deal that would have enabled close monitoring that might well have prevented military intervention. Now I’m no lover of Iran’s theocratic misogynistic autocracy and their avowed wish to destroy Israel. It’s an oppressive monstrosity and I would back regime change and liberation of women, but there are far better means than war (with all those repercussions)!!

So much for a man of peace – more an opportunistic conman with a brain the size of the dove he’s plucking!

This is a man who is an arrogant bully (and you know what happens to bullies!).

Nobel peace prize – HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!

War has rules!

They are clearly laid out in International Laws:

The laws of war in a nutshell | International Committee of the Red Cross

The laws were created for humanitarian reasons. To break the law is a war crime. To

You do not target or deliberately bomb civilians. (Putin and Netanyahu – guilty)

You do not use water or food or medical aid as weapons (Netanyahu guilty)

You do not use torture (Netanyahu and Putin – guilty)

You do not use rape (Netanyahu and Putin – guilty)

You do not target schools, hospitals and community centres (Netanyahu and Putin – guilty)

Putin’s invasion of Ukraine was an act of aggression that broke international law. The subsequent pounding of civilians areas, targeting of schools, hospitals, power stations and civilians were war crimes. The systematic torture, rape and executions were war crimes. The abduction of children is a war crime.

Even if Israel’s invasion of Gaza can be considered a war the way it has been conducted has all the hallmarks of a massive war crime. Netanyahu has pounded Gaza into rubble, targeted hospitals and schools, starved and harassed the entire population, used water and medical aid as weapons, and indiscriminately shot and bombed civilians in what amounts to genocide.

Put and Netanyahu, along with all the politicians and generals involved in planning and carrying out these war crimes should be dragged off to Nuremberg and put on trial!

Some People are slow to cotton on.

Some people don’t understand what’s going on around them.

Some people are too stupid to understand.

Some people don’t see what’s going on.

Some people misunderstand everything.

Some people are infantile.

Some people are senile.

Some people have low IQs.

Some people are plain nasty.

Some people are greedy.

Some people lust for power.

Some people seek adulation.

Some people suck up to killers, thugs and tyrants.

Some people can convince other people that they are doing the very opposite of what they are doing.

Some people think they can get away with murder.

It’s just rare for them to get elected to be in charge of the nuclear button!

Quantum Poem

Quantum Poem

This is a Quantum poem                                                                                                               In two places

At the same time

A quantum poem                                                                                                                            Two meanings

One lousy rhyme

This is a quantum poem

This is a quantum poem                                                                                                                               War and peace

The same thing

A quantum poem                                                                                                                            Hate and love

Pervades everything

This is a quantum poem

Opher – 1.5.2025

I just walked into the market to buy some berries. I like berries and yoghurt. As I walked along in the May sunshine I was thinking about the dualities of life – light and dark, happy sad, war and peace, hate and love. It set me thinking that they are both always there. They just wax and wane according to circumstances. There is no such thing as purity. Even Hitler was an artist.

The Wisdom of Mankind

The Wisdom of Mankind

Bombing hospitals

Blowing little children

                To glutinous pools.

That’s what research

                                                The wiles of war.

Opher – 18.4.2025

Isn’t it incredibly sad that we use science, technology and all our creativity in this way?

All over the world, in secret labs, our cleverest people are paid to devise ever nastier ways of killing other people.

All those dollars spent on death.

At this minute politicians are plotting who to attack, Generals are identifying targets. Schools, hospitals, residential blocks, clinics and electricity stations are targeted. Children and women are fair game.

Destroy resolve; destroy spirits.

It’s evil.

Just imagine if all that money could be used to deal with poverty, inequality and the creation of a less polluted world.

Just imagine if we used our greatest minds to find solutions to all our problems.

What a world we would live in.

Instead….

If the aliens actually came!!

Just imagine if a delegation of super-intelligent aliens actually came to study Earth. What would they make of us??

We are supposed to be highly intelligent!

How have we organised the planet?

Is it organised intelligently?

We have a bunch of tribal apes. Instead of working together and intelligently running things we divide, fight and hate.

There’s more than enough to go round so that all of us can live in luxury.

We have the technology to create an harmonious place where nature and us can flourish.

Is that what we’ve chosen to do?

Like hell it is!!

We’ve divided ourselves up into warring factions!

We look for any excuse to hate – race, colour, language, creed, religion, sexual orientation, hair colour, preferences. It doesn’t take much.

We arbitrarily divided the continents up into tribal units we call countries. There’s no logic to this. It just gives us things to fight over.

We invent multitudes of religions for gods we never see and create doctrines and elaborate rituals, dress codes, feeding restrictions and behaviours, strictly adhered to, according to writings written by unknown people who spoke to these gods in wildernesses, caves and mountain tops well away from other people. Yet we hold every word to be true and firmly believe that ‘our’ god is the only one that is real. We are prepared to kiill in his name and often do. We actually torture, stone and burn people who don’t believe the same as us! Highly intelligent!

We spend our resources on weapons and starve people, under-resource education and healthcare.

We build up sophisticated cities and then periodically bomb them to smithereens.

We develop a system built on greed where a tiny minority have more than they could ever use in a million life-times while billions live in squalor, extreme poverty, starve a die.

We plunder the earth for resources so that that minority can prosper.

We dump dangerous chemicals in the air, in the water and in the soil so that not a square inch of the planet is unpolluted – including ourselves and every plant and animal. We do that because it is cheaper than doing things properly. We do it so we can make more money. All that money goes into the pockets of people who really don’t need it.

We have caused such pollution that it is changing the weather, climate and could lead to our own extinction.

Talking of extinction – there are a number of ways we could become extinct – viruses, asteroids, nuclear war – we already know about them. But do we take measures, put in enough money? No we’d rather fight and make more elaborate weapons. We’d rather create mosques, cathedrals and temples. We hope it will never happen or put our faith in invisible gods or belligerent politicians.

We are all mentally ill in that we are addicted to all manner of things from heroin, crystal meth, alcohol to collecting bird eggs, records and stamps. Gambling and superstition are pervasive.

The majority of us spend most of our lives working away to make money for that minority who already have way too much.

We allow conmen, in the form of religious leaders and politicians, to abuse us, stupefy us and take away our ability to think rationally.

We believe lies. We believe conspiracies. We believe everything in the media or that our leaders tell us – even if we can see it’s a pile of bollocks.

We all have biological processes of excretion and reproduction but for some reason we think these biological things are obscene. We are embarrassed and disgusted by our own biology! We make sex into a weapon to use against people! We develop perversions and abuse.

We have divided humans into two groups based on gender. The women, despite superior intelligence, are deemed weaker and so are easily abused, subjugated and made into second-class citizens. We turn them into sex slaves, create social pressure to make them dress up in silly costumes – from burqas to stiletto heels, make them paint their faces and exhibit their bodies and then castigate them for painting their faces and exhibiting their bodies. We make them possessions and restrict their lives. We get them so anxious over their appearance and sexuality that they don’t know if they are coming or going.

We have enormous psychological flaws. So many of us are psychopaths, sociopaths, narcissists, bipolar, or suffering from anxiety, social anxiety, schizophrenia and paranoia. None of us are normal.

We love violence and pain. Most of our films and art is about murder and pain. We worship greed, violence and pain. Pain is king. We love inflicting pain on others. We love torturing animals. We have bull rings, bear pits, cock fighting and a long history of hunting for pleasure. If it moves kill it, shoot it, spray it and burn it – preferably in a way where we can watch it slowly die in agony.

We also love death. Well we love death in everything else and are terrified and obsessed with our own death!

As a species we are screwed up!!

So what would those really intelligent aliens make of us?

Do you think they’d see us as intelligent?

You know – I reckon that a species that invents religion and loves pain and war can’t ever be really considered intelligent!

They’d probably eradicate us as vermin!!

A trade war is a war!

He’s not putting tariffs on enemies (Russia, North Korea, Iran).

He’s putting tariffs on friends (Canada, the EU, the UK, Mexico).

Who’s he working for?

Who will pay?

Has the USA ever won a war??

For all Trump’s bluster against Russia, Greenland, Panama and Iran, there is little substance.

America has a history of wading into countries with massive initial success, followed by an elongated period of being bogged down before finally being booted out. It’s a dire record.

They were kicked out of

Korea

Vietnam

Cambodia

Iran

Afghanistan

and Syria

It’s time the USA, Russia, China, North Korea and Iran put aside this archaic, barbaric show of strength. Civilisation advances. The world deserves better. Forget the bluster and bullying.

War is an anachronism.
