The Seven Pillars of Wisdom – Jordan

I read the book by Lawrence – now I’ve seen the mountains. Beautiful. I am much wiser.

Jordan – Wadi Rum, hieroglyphs and mountains

We drove out into the desert, into Wadi Rum, stopping to look at hieroglyphs the Bedouin had carved into the sandstone.

Jordan – Qsar al-Azraq – The Fortress where Lawrence of Arabia stayed.

Interesting history – few too many tourists though.

Jordan – Al-Karak A Crusader Castle Where Lawrence of Arabia stayed.

The castle of Al-Karak was a ruin. Once an impregnable castle built on the mountain top, only accessible via a tunnel carved through rock, it now looked impressive but was showing signs of fires and damage.

This was the place that T.E.Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) often stayed during his campaigns.

Photography – Jordan – Sunset in Wadi Rum – Lawrence’s playground.

Wadi Rum was an incredibly beautiful and peaceful. It was so tranquil to sit and watch the sun set.

Lawrence of Arabia spent a lot of time here with his beloved Bedouin. The Seven Pillars mountains were the basis of the title of his book.
