Sunset at Sewerby

I was walking up on the headland at Sewerby overlooking Bridlington. The sun was setting and light was great. A copse of trees caught my eye. Reminded me of Hockney!

All Right!

All Right!

All right! Alright!

                I’ve been better!

All right! Alright!

                Water’s wetter!

Shazam!

                Magic word!

Sesame!

                Phoenix bird!

All life in a sunset.

All dreams in the night.

All possibility

In the spectrum of twilight.

I always find that an open fire or the glow of a sunset release the mind so that it can wander free. That’s magic.

It opens doors into thoughts and renews the spirit.

Fires and sunsets heal.

Your mind can wander through memories and thoughts, drift effortlessly, at peace.

That glow is magic.

Sunset, Flash and Trees in South Africa

Travel and photography

I never get tired of sunsets. Back in 2006 I was in South Africa walking through the bush at sunset. The colours were amazing and I was experimenting with using flash to highlight the trees in the foreground against the backdrop of the sky. I achieved some nice effects.

Sunset in South Africa

We took a walk around a big lake as the sun was setting. The birds were settling for the night. It was warm and surreal.

Oman – sailing away!

One thing we all commented on was that we never saw any women. They were all locked away indoors! Didn’t feel right!

Sunset off the coast of Oman.

Sunrises and sunsets at sea are often spectacular.

Jordan – Bedouin camps, sheep and sunset in the desert

Driving back through the desert from Petra we passed a number of Bedouin camps. It was amazing to see sheep managing to prosper in such a hostile environment.

The sunset was a fitting goodbye.

Borneo – Kota Kinabalu – The sunset of departure

As we pulled out of Kota Kinabalu the sun was low in the sky creating a psychedelic glow.

We slid along the coast as I looked over at the shrouded mountains and jungle and thought about orangutans.

The sun set on Borneo!
