Osama Bin Laden set out to undermine and weaken the Western World with its liberal view of democracy.
He organised the flights that flew into the Twin Towers on the 11th September 2001 – 9/11. He couldn’t have believed how successful he would be.
Bush stupidly performed a knee-jerk response, declared a war on terror, and attacked Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan. (The real culprit was probably an extreme cult in Saudi Arabia).
This had two devastating effects:
- It sparked more Islamic extremism. The Jihadists used what they described as ‘a war on Islam’ to recruit. It pushed moderate Muslims into more extreme views.
- It displaced millions and started a wave of Muslim mass immigration.
We then suffered a number of further nasty terrorist bombings and Muslims, who had previously been integrating into Western culture, became radicalised.
We had waves of Muslims fleeing the destruction, bombing, discrimination and poverty.
Suddenly, the West was consumed by fear and was seeing mass immigration on a level not seen before. This was exacerbated by global warming making regions uninhabitable and extreme poverty driving desperate people to seek a better future.
Lo and behold, a bunch of extreme right-wing populists sprang up with simplistic answers. Instead of dealing with the causes of the mass immigration, extremism and terrorism (ending wars, addressing global warming and dealing with crippling poverty – which would have required huge funding and resources) they chose to stir up fear, divide, build hate and bring in simple answers:
Build walls
Ban Muslims
Mass deportation
Build immigrant camps that resembled concentration camps
They got themselves elected on the basis of fear of immigrants, racism, xenophobia, antimuslimism sentiment and nationalism. They stole from the 1930s Nazi playbook (replacing Jews with Muslims).
Seemingly, all these desperate immigrants were terrorists, rapists, murderers and drug dealers. They were (using Orwellian double-think) both taking all our jobs and scrounging on benefits.
The reaction to Bin Laden was:

- Putin and Ukraine
Bin Laden succeeded in weakening the EU, weakening Britain, totally dividing the USA, bringing to the fore a bunch of totally incompetent leaders, wasting huge amounts of resources on wars, walls and repelling immigrants, undermining confidence, and radicalising a whole generation of Muslims.
Now the West is in decay.
The whole Muslim world has been driven back to the Dark Ages (with Kalashnikovs) with women back in hijabs and men with robes and beards all memorising sets of archaic verse.
Christian Evangelicals are equally busy brainwashing their kids with a different set of archaic verse.
The whole West is hugely weakened.
The whole world is poorer, less stable and in turmoil.
Bin Laden was more successful than he could possibly have dreamed!
