Leaf patterns are fractal in formation… Like most of the natural world. And trees are life forms that if their movements were a great deal speeded up, the would look more like animals moving around. While they do not have brains, they do have a hormonal transfer system that looks remarkably like a nervous system… Their intelligence (and they do have some) comes from chemical transfers rather than electrical ones. They are the ancients of the living world.
I agree Colette. There is something special about them. One fascinating fact is that all their cells communicate electrically in the same way as animal nerve cells. Maybe the whole plant acts as a brain?
