Back on board!!!

Hi guys,

Sorry about my long absence. I’ve just spent two months touring South America – Brazil, Argentina, Chile,. Uruguay, Falklands. We went cruising on an old East German ice-breaker. It was superb.

It’s been incredible – a bit scary at times. Met some nice people, saw some amazing sights, caught some rays, saw some wild-life, had some great meals, a few wines, lots of laughs and had a real think.

The social and political mood of the whole of South America is fraught!

I’ve come back with three new books, a ton of photos and a little more understanding!

I’ll be sharing it all with you over the next few months!

Thanks for all your continuing support!

Cheers

Opher

  1. Welcome back <3 I was wondering why you disappeared , but I'm glad to find out you were touring South America. Looking forward to read your own personal experience and observations about it, those countries are exotic, beautiful but very dangerous at the same time.

  2. Aha, the return of the prodigal writer! So rumours of your untimely demise were seemingly greatly exaggerated? Look forward to your stories – start with the scary bits!
    Cheers

    1. Hi Andrew
Seven dead on the boat – one bitten to death – one head-butted a tram!! Lots of robberies, accidents and violence!!
I’ll let you know when I’ve found my land legs!!
      Hope you are fully recovered!!
      Cheers – Opher

      1. Well at last you are back, safe and sound – thought you would have been flying the Union Jack in Argentina and arrested. Missed your posts, lots to tell you. Anna

      1. Well now that my demise has been greatly exaggerated I shall start on my rebirth!
Cheers Anna. Good to hear from you. Still catching up. Got home yesterday evening. No hot water. internet intermittent. Nothing is working. Undergoing repairs and getting things up and running.
Hope you are well!! Much to catch up on!
        Take care – Opher

    1. Now have hot water though I need a new boiler!
Internet still crap – making no headway.
      No car until tomorrow.
But the world is beautiful! It’s time to live!

  3. Welcome back Opher! I’m looking forward to reading your posts about that wonderful trip… “cruising on an old East German ice-breaker”.. it sounds quite “romanesque” as we would say in French 🙂

    1. Cheers Frederik. I’m looking forward to reading your wonderful poetry again! It was a romantic old boat! – Best wishes – Opher

  4. Yes I can’t wait, Hotel booked flights checked out. Andrew has been fantastic so much help he gave me. You, gave me the encouragement to do this on my own, thank you is not enough.

    1. Sounds great. You’d have done it anyway. You didn’t need any encouragement from me. You’ll love it. Life needs a bit of uncertainty, a bit of excitement, adventure. It keeps it spicy. There’s possibility.

      1. No I would not have, I had no belief in myself that I could do it – sometimes it takes people outside to tell you that you can.
