Photography – Skipsea Castle and Wharam Percy.

Wharam Percy is a beautiful site of a medieval village on the Wolds outside Driffield. It nestles in a little valley and must have been a great little community.

All that is left is the lake, ruined church and outlines of the houses, but the setting is great. Well worth a visit,

Skipsea castle no longer exists. All that is left is the mound it was built on and the moat and huge earthworks that surrounded it. They are impressive. You can’t help but imagine the huge effort that went into creating earthworks of that size that long ago.DSC_0007

After Walking at Fridaythorpe we went to Wharram Percy. There’s not much to see of the medieval village but it’s a beautiful walk in summer with the flowers, birds and butterflies!

England can be beautiful!
