Wharam Percy is a beautiful site of a medieval village on the Wolds outside Driffield. It nestles in a little valley and must have been a great little community.
All that is left is the lake, ruined church and outlines of the houses, but the setting is great. Well worth a visit,

Skipsea castle no longer exists. All that is left is the mound it was built on and the moat and huge earthworks that surrounded it. They are impressive. You can’t help but imagine the huge effort that went into creating earthworks of that size that long ago.

Looks a very nice place.
It’s a nice little walk and nestles in a little valley.
You make me wish I had a couple months to hang around. Beautiful. I’m just enough of a romantic to wonder what I would feel if I stood in a place like that…
Most probably cold and damp – at least right now – Summer hasn’t got going yet!
