There are times when Pakistan seems to be plummeting back into the Dark Ages of religious fundamentalism instead of forwards into a civilised 21st century.

Another blogger in Pakistan is beaten to death by a mob of religious fascists!
A blogger in Iran is finally released from ten years in prison for daring to criticise the hierarchy.
Freedom of speech is not a universal right. Everywhere it has been introduced it has had to be fought for. Freedom is always paid for with blood. It is usually removed by stealth under the guise of protecting the populace.
In places like Iran, Saudi and Pakistan, where fundamentalism rules, speaking your mind can result in imprisonment, 1000s of lashes, or even death. The religious fascists do not tolerate any dissention. Everyone has to believe or die. There is no room for criticism or differing views.
I find that repulsive. It is against everything I believe in.

The fact that there are still bloggers who are prepared to speak out against this tyranny is commendable. They are risking their lives. I cannot find words to express my admiration.
We all need to stand up for freedom, equality, tolerance and respect. We need to speak out against tyranny of all types. Fascism is reprehensible.
Here is to a better world! A world based on love.

How evil is it to go into a religious place full of peaceful people who are completely innocent, unknown to you and have done you know harm and deliberately seek to blow them to bits, to maim and create misery on the basis that they happen to believe in a different god to you? If there was a god could he ever condone such a thing? Doesn’t it prove there is no god?
The hypocrisy of the religious knows no bounds. They believe their evil actions are what god wants. What does that say about their god?
Medieval barbarity, uncivilised callous psychosis and ignorant brain-washing.
Religious fanatics never hold back. They will stop at nothing to force their doctrine on other people.
History is littered with their actions:
Crusades, Jihads, holocausts, purges, pogroms, wars, terrorism, torture, beheadings, crucifixion, burnings, drownings, murder by electric drill …….. The list goes on and on. Wherever there is religion there is intolerance, violence, murder and plotting for power.
The hypocrisy is almost the worst thing: priests raping children, bishops covering things up, imams preaching hatred and violence when Islam means peace, monks drinking and fornicating instead of being chaste, the misuse of religious texts, the Borgias and sex, the cardinals and their wealth and power.
There is a mystery in religion. I can reveal it.
The mystery is that people are taken in by these power-seekers and hypocrites!
