Magical first days!
I do not believe in destiny or fate. I do not believe in superstition. Yet something is going on. Perhaps science will find some neuronal emanations that connect people? Perhaps all humanity is connected in a zeitgeist that joins us all in some mental web? I don’t know. But it takes things like that to explain things sometimes.
My enrolment day at college was one of those events that make you think.
Hundreds of people were being enrolled on tens of different course. It was a big college. I walked into the canteen and it was one huge throng of people all milling around. I stood there looking round. I spied this table with two interesting looking guys sitting at it and made a bee-line towards it. I sat down and introduced myself.
It was Pete Smith and Jules Darker. They were both on my course and we are friends right up until this day!
I don’t know what attracted me. I don’t know what force was at work. I could have gone anywhere. Something compelled me.
There are strange forces at work!
