Lockdown

Loads warmer today!! This morning I was up in Teeside with my daughter, walking in the park. We ate in a restaurant. It was an early Christmas visit!! Who know3s what the next month holds??

Meanwhile, out in Coronaland at last the teflon is wearing thin and our clown is covered in manure and it’s not sliding off.

I think there has been one too many gates!! We’ve had Brexitgate, Irishbordergate, Fishinggate, Farmergate, Bordergate, Afghanistangate, Wallpapergate, Cronygate, Covidgate, Powergate, Petrolgate, HGVgate, Lyinggate, Torydonorgate, Secondjobgate, Revolvingdoorgate, Peeragegate, Socialcaregate, Lawbreakinggate, Taxgate and Partygate. I’ve probably missed quite a few!!

Brexit – a bunch of nationalists lied about how great it was all going to be!! It is becoming apparent that it was a complete disaster.

He lied about the Irish border.

He lied about the fishing and farming. Fishermen are going out of business. The loss of labour has meant crops rotting in fields and soaring prices.

He lied about keeping our borders secure and taking back control.

Covid mismanagement with one of the worst death-rates and hardest hit economy.

He made a complete ballsup of getting our Afghan helpers out.

He lied about the massive rises in power.

He lied about the huge increases in petrol. Brexit was going to make it cheaper!

He lied about the Tory donors paying for his refurbishment.

He lied about tariffs and HGV drivers – putting costs up and shortages on shelves.

He lied about cash for questions, lobbying and peerages for donors.

He lied about the revolving door and massive salaries for lobbying and disclosing secrets.

He lied about plans for Social Care and then taxed the poor.

He broke international law, law of the land and parliamentary rules.

He lied about not putting up taxes.

We’re meant to be basking in the sunny uplands with free tariff-free trade and no red-tape, secure borders and £350 million aq week for the NHS!!

What we’ve got is tariffs, queues, extra costs, slow delivery, rising prices, shortages, delays and massive job losses. Not quite what were promised. Where are all these wonderful lucrative trade deals?? Nowhere to be seen.

Now we have parties taking place during lockdown in his own house that he doesn’t know about.

Hasn’t this clown and his ‘gathering’ of extremists caused enough damage? They’ve certainly put billions into the pockets of their chums – and themselves. How much has Rees-Mogg made out of Covid and Brexit (to the nearest million)??

The saga of incompetence continues as our clown addresses the nation to tell us that the ‘irreversible’ is to be reversed! What a plonker!!

So yesterday there were another 54,073 new cases with 132 deaths!! Not looking good!!

Omicron is starting to go mad with another 1239 new cases.

Our Track and Trace is performing as usual. Obviously needs another £37 billion!!

As if the virus isn’t bad enough we have the prospect of our clown addressing us. No doubt he will tell us not to party!! To wear facemasks!! To socially distance!!

We will be regaled with a belated Plan B. Should have been in a week or two back.

We’re heading for Plan C. Now as I remember it:

Plan A – ignore it

Plan B – pretend it isn’t happening and only affects foreigners

Plan C – Panic, flap around and hand out billions to Tories to make things that don’t work.

Plan D – find scapegoats for the deaths, job losses and disasters

As we can see – they actually practice what lies to tell to the public. ‘What do we say about parties, nibbles, party games, alcohol etc. ??” ” Legal gatherings, work-related, no covid rules were broken.”

“But will they swallow that?????”

“They’ll swallow anything!!!”

So as we head towards Christmas Is see that we are moving to Level 4. They will be more hospitalisations than with any previous wave. The hospitals are full of the unvaccinated and they are predicting another 75,000 deaths.

The one good thing is that the Omicron variant may be less lethal. It looks like we’ll all catch it, as it is extremely transmissible, but the vaccines will work. It may kill off a lot but it might create herd immunity in those who remain.

As a triple vaccinated person I’m very confident.

I’m still sorting my room. I think it’s going to be a big job!! DIY is not my thing. Good tools would help! Never mind.

I’ve shortly got to go off and buy some wood and rawplugs! Wish me luck!!

I haven’t done any editing today but I have been playing some music to lift the spirits – A bit of Love!! Always a good choice!!

I’m watching the events out in Coronaland with interest. I’m just hoping this proves the end of our resident clown with his posse of nationalist extremists. They’ve done more than enough wrecking!!

So wallpapergate is coming back to bite him hard on the heels of partygate. He hasn’t got over sleazegate or lawbreakinggate yet. Every day is liegate followed by blustergate and ineptigate.It’d be funny if it wasn’t so incredibly bad. How one man can make such a mess and cost us so many tens of billions is simply unbelievable. It’s amazing how forgiving people can be. But I think, with the polls plummeting that the backbenchers will be baying for blood. They want their Rishi at the helm!!

As Patton said – The Tory Party has been taken over by a bunch of nationalist extremists!! It’s been a sad few years. Brexit empowered the fascists. They’ve all crawled out of the woodwork.

Isn’t is great to have such a sharp mind at the centre of power; someone perceptive, analytical, a stickler for detail, thorough and methodical. Just what you need in a crisis. What with Brexit and covid we’re not short of crises.

So yesterday we had 51,342 new cases with 148 deaths. That still seems a lot of deaths to me!! I thought we were supposed to have a good antiviral drug now???

They are warning us about the Omicron variant. If it is as bad as the Delta it will overwhelm the NHS. It probably isn’t and won’t – but you can’t tell. They are advising the unvaccinated to avoid crowds.

It seems the symptoms of Omicron are a bit different. You tend to get a headache, have a runny nose and sneeze a lot. On top of that you could develop a sore throat, loss of smell and a cough.

Not sure I want any of those!! But I do have a runny nose!!

A cold sunny day in Yorkshire. I’ve been to my writing group and working on the major reworking of my room. It’s amazing what you find when you delve through all the detritus that has accumulated in various drawers!! Old posters of Roy Harper, Nick Harper and assorted bands that I went to, a great wad of old CND postcards, loads of VHS tapes of live music, hundreds of C90 tapes of live music, hundreds of CDs and DVDs of live music, letters, cards and some of my old artwork.

The next question is what to do with all this stuff.

Collectors of the world unite!! I reckon I’m going to have to sell some of this stuff. I don’t like to part with it though.

Meanwhile, out in Coronaland the charade continues. Our clown is still pretending that he knew nothing of the party that didn’t happen in his own house – the one that they did the practice denial of and found very funny. There turns out to be another two!!

Rules, to Tories, are for other people! They love their liberty – it’s just everybody elses’ that they don’t like. They adore bringing in draconian laws and locking people up for breaking those rules but they don’t have to abide by them.

So we take away passports and driving licences from all those all parties shoving coke up their noses but it was perfectly alright for Johnson to sniff his head off.

We are all meant to be locked down and not see anyone but if we have family around we get a visit from the cops and end up in court.

Why is it that these ‘freedom-loving’ people don’t really like real freedom??? They are great on freedom for themselves but on their terms and for themselves – other peoples’ freedom has to be severely curtailed with hefty sentences for anyone who does not conform to their own vision of what is right. It’s the same the world over – Trumpists like to have their guns and threaten other people. If you don’t agree with their views then you are in for some aggressive confrontation. It’s so incredibly conformist and conservative.

As for me – I’m incredibly intolerant. I’m intolerant of racism, violence, intimidation, bullying, unfairness, injustice, misogyny, cruelty and any damage to nature. That’s why I despise Tories and Republicans. I despise elitism, arrogance, privilege and entitlement. I want a fairer, liberal society.

Our clown is accused of trying to deflect away from his problems with illegal parties and sleaze by bringing forward Plan B and starting a war on drugs that he hopes will be popular.

But the more he wriggles and lies the worse things get. He’s been caught out lying about the refurbishment payments for his flat. He claimed he did not know the donor but had sent emails!! The Tories were fined for breaking rules!! What a surprise!! Then the number of parties is multiplying by the day. The police are looking into three now!!

Do you think the police will prosecute??? Do you think Paymaster General Michael Ellis will really investigate?? Or is it going to be a whitewash!!

What an extraordinary set of corruption, entitlement and ineptitude.

Yesterday there were 50,617 new cases with 161 more deaths. Omicron is taking off with another 249 more cases taking it up to 817.

They are talking about a million cases by Xmas.

The one bit of good news is that less than a third of those in South Africa infected with Omicron are becoming severely ill. This variant appears to be much more transmissible but maybe less severe.

With the aftermath of storm Barra still dumping rain on us, it hasn’t been too pleasant a day. I ventured out to get some supplies and then set about sorting out my room.

I’m reorganising. It’s taken a lot of work, putting up shelves, chucking stuff out. I’ve really only just started. I have a vision!!

Meanwhile, out in Coronaland, our bumbling liar continues to deny knowing anything about the party that was taking place in his own house!! I have rarely seen such a shambling performance as he tried to deflect and prevaricate.

What an embarrassment. He has spent a week lying to us until leaked recorded broadcasts showed his staff practising how to lie to the media and laughing at how easily we are fooled.

Do you think this was a one-off?? These Tories feel they are so superior and entitled that they really don’t have to follow the same rules as the rest of us. They are laughing at us.

These are the arrogant imbeciles who we elected! Happy?? Why do so many people keep giving this incompetent fool so much leeway!!

Yesterday I watched this bumbling fool dressing up like some comedy policeman.

He loves dressing up and looking a twat. He thinks it makes him popular. It seems to work. A lot of people seem to want a useless millionaire clown instead of a proper serious politician.

Once again this stupid right-wing initiative, brought in to deflect from the shambles that is going on, is doomed to failure.

We do have a real drugs crisis. It’s been created by prohibition. Prohibition has created a wave of crime and put countless billions in the pockets of criminals. How many thousands of deaths?? How much misery??

Prohibition doesn’t work. Another dose of stronger prohibition is not going to work – just more of the same!! Until such time as we start treating drugs as a health issue and not a criminal one, we are doomed to have this immense problem. Having our PM looking like a clown in a party-time police costume hardly creates the image we need!!

Knee-jerk reactions never solve problems.

This is the government that took away the funding from the drug rehabilitation centres, that closed down the youth clubs, that took bobbies off the street. They have spent the last twelve years making the drug problem worse. Now they are after blaming the public for their stupidity!

We don’t need to lock people up; we need to educate them, not pour out lying propaganda and provide health centres.

Legalise drugs and put in the necessary support. Take the clown out of politics and put a real leader in!

so, yesterday there were another 51,342 new cases with another 180 deaths. It keeps coming and coming. The Omicron variant is beginning to spread alarmingly. They say that by Christmas it will be the dominant variant.

Is that bad or good?

It’ll be good if the Omicron variant doesn’t make you really ill. We’ll gain natural immunity from catching it. If it displaces nastier versions that could be to our advantage. We’ll see.

One bit of good news is that the Pfizer vaccine is effective with 3 shots!!

The bad news might be that Omicron can infect those who are vaccinated or have had the disease.

For now it is the Johnson Delta variant that is killing people and still spreading like mad.

If you remember Johnson was stupidly saying, as he relaxed ALL the regulations, that the relaxation of rules IRREVERSIBLE. How could it be irreversible?? A single variant can change the whole game. The man’s a fool.

Now, with the virus going mad, they are having to look at Christmas and bring back rules. They are poised to bring in Plan B.

The thing is how can anybody take him seriously? He makes the rules. We have to follow the rules by force of law. The Tories break the rules and laugh. Johnson lies about it. How can anybody take him seriously? Will they follow him now??
