Well the Brexiteers, the ERG and Populists, ratcheted up the fear around immigration for their own ends. Racism was unleashed with a wave of hatred and fear. It empowered the extremists. We’re reaping the rewards. A bunch of racist Nazi thugs opportunistically jumping on the bandwagon.

Sadly, it undermines any constructive discussion on how we really handle immigration – what is good and what is bad. Brexit has chucked out whole rafts of much needed European workers (carers, NHS, teachers, doctors, fruit pickers and catering). We’re replacing them with Chinese, Indian and Africans who are far less transient! The antimuslim rhetoric is obnoxious (and nobody despises religion and particularly indoctrinating evangelists, Muslims and Catholics more than me). In a tolerant society we respect other peoples’ beliefs no matter how we feel about them.

Brexit – Applying a little Intelligence!

It is not rocket science:-

If you choose to leave the biggest free-trade partnership on the planet and thus set up checks, tariffs and various impediments the costs will go up, the time taken will go up, there will be the need for huge increases in customs facilities and officers, huge queues and prices will rise. Trade will go down and the country will be a lot poorer. Travel abroad will be more expensive and take longer.

Farage, the lying populist, tells us this is just because the Tories didn’t do it right. Bollocks!! He’s a liar. While the Tories are a useless bunch of self-serving, greedy pigs, the same problems of costs still exist.

Making trade agreements with countries the other side of the world cannot plug that gap.

Far from taking control we have given control to a bunch of extreme self-servers who are, despite all their promises, worsening our conditions.

Brexit is costing us £100 billion a year!!

Immigration has gone up dramatically, prices have gone up, services are worse!!

Why is nobody talking about this??

We should have gone for a soft Brexit and stayed in the Customs Union and Single Market! We’ve been lied to and taken for fools!!

Zoe Williams’ piece on the anti-Brexit mood taking hold in the country was nicely optimistic (Most Britons now think Brexit was a bad idea – the government just hasn’t caught up yet, 21 November). But still the petition to parliament to rejoin the EU is only at a miserable 14,167 as I write this. Where are these people who want rejoin the EU? My guess is that they’re simply not aware that there’s a petition. Could the Guardian highlight this with a campaign perhaps?

Where are the thousands who marched in October? Where are the Liberal Democrats? They must have more than 14,167 members alone. Where are the young, the city dwellers, anybody and everybody who wants us to finish this mad Brexit experiment? This petition should be in the millions, shouldn’t it? C’mon, let’s do this thing, let’s reverse it.

When Johnson sat at that desk weighing up which way to go on Brexit was he thinking about the nation, the effect of his decision on people? Or was he thinking about himself? Which would bring him power and unlimited wealth?

After 12 Years of Tory Austerity we are truly broken!

Preface

In 2022 we are living in the debris of a broken nation.

The place is being run for the benefit of the top 1% at the expense of the rest of us. The politicians are self-serving puppets for a cabal of billionaires. The media is a propaganda machine whose job it is to control and pacify.

The Daily Mail, Daily Express, The Sun, Daily Telegraph and Times pour out their daily dose of venom, lies and vitriol to poison the minds of the gullible. Even the BBC is stained.

The media  is controlled by billionaires who use it to promote their own self-interest – at our expense.

Back in time, when the protests forced their hand, they gave the vote to the people. At the time they thought it would mean the end of their games, but they learnt how to handle democracy. With the use of spin, lies and propaganda, backed up by force, they successfully controlled how the majority voted.

There were barely sufficient compromises made to keep the masses working and prevent civil unrest – barely and no more.

If ever the establishment was threatened they turned the full might of the propaganda machine against the threat. The money markets were deployed. The wealthy withdrew their cash. The brainwashing ensured that the threat did not materialise. The system prevailed.

‘Vote for anti-establishment parties and the economy would crash’. The people believed it!

The left-wing, and it’s striving for fairness and justice, was demonised. They were painted extreme and insane. The status quo was maintained. The country was run for the rich, by the rich. The politicians were bribed, threatened and seduced. Money talks.

All that matters is cash and power.

The system runs on slogans, promises and lies. Meanwhile the wealthy prosper and the rest suffer austerity.

Over these last twelve years of Tory rule the public services have been gutted, the needy thrown to the wolves, the politicians have passed through the revolving door to perpetual wealth and the rest of us pick up the bill.

Everything is politics.

The media is dumbed down to keep us quiet. A population obsessed with Strictly and Love Island is not going to educate themselves about politics.

Power and greed rule and faceless billionaires pull the strings, guiding us to Armageddon through lobbying, bribes and threats.

The politicians are in their pockets.

They’ve robbed so much, created such poverty, reduced workers’ rights to such an extent, that people are desperately trying to hold down three jobs just to keep their heads above water.

Every catastrophe, from Brexit to Covid to Putin, is exploited in order to put more money in the vaults of the wealthy. For them tax is optional and the loopholes are never closed.

The Cayman Islands are sinking under the weight of gold.

Democracy depends on unbiased information.

There is no unbiased information.

There is no scrutiny, no accountability and no justice.

Britain is utterly broken!

They contrived to put a buffoon – a lying, idle clown – in charge. The media made us love him. They portrayed the self-serving, over-privileged chancer as a loveable rogue. He was always a cynical, calculating conman out to feather his nest.

They contrived to put an arrogant moron in charge. She promised them a fortune in order to get elected.

They put us through a catastrophic Brexit which has not only wrecked our world standing but ruined our economy.

They mismanaged Covid so that billions was put into the pockets of wealthy profiteers.

Everything is run for this elite group.

Everything is run for profit.

The future is of no concern.

Twelve years of Tory greed has produced this. Twelve years of Tory power has put fatter multimillion-pound bonuses in the pockets of bankers while kids starve and freeze and our cities are controlled by drug gangs.

The One Word Nobody Mentions …/… Brexit!!

They try to tell us it is all global.

They try to tell us it’s Covid.

They try to tell us that it’s Ukraine.

They try to tell us that it’s global energy, global oil.

Yet our oil companies are making huge profits, our energy companies are making huge profits and our economy has been knocked for six by BREXIT!!

Those other factors have affected other countries but it has all been exacerbated by BREXIT!!

Brexit – new poll suggests British people have woken up to the lies.

A new poll by right-wing TalkTV asking how people would vote if there was another referendum came up with interesting results:

Leave – 28.5%

Remain – 71.5%

That would suggest to me that people have realised that the lies they were fed about being better off after Brexit were empty words. Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage, for personal gain, lied. Far from having a Brexit dividend, the result has been an economic disaster. We are all much poorer.

Project Fear has morphed into Project Reality.

That does not bode well for Johnson. His boast about ‘Getting Brexit Done’ is likely to promote negative reactions. Most British people now realise that they were conned.

The Tories chose to do a stupidly extreme form of Brexit – not only leaving the EU but pulling out of the Single Market and Customs Union as well as all collaborations. A spectacularly insane choice and one that was not supported by a majority of people. The referendum was not for a hard Brexit. Far from it.

The ERG extremists have led us down a very stupid route for their own ideological brand of nasty nationalism coupled with their own personal gain. Some of them made a lot of money.

Getting Brexit done is likely to rebound on this bunch of incompetent self-servers!

As more information emerges about the disastrous impact of Brexit on our future economy I reckon that people will start to turn on the idiots who pushed it through – Johnson, Farage, Rees-Mogg and the rest of the Tory chances.

Cameron and Osborne have a lot to answer for! They’ve cost us hundreds of billions and landed us with Johnson and the most incompetent government we’ve ever had!!
