Take Heart Too – a poem.

Take Heart Too

Take heart from those who see the bigger picture

And realise they are minor players

Within a mighty stroke of luck

That gave us eyes to see;

For they are aglow

With understanding

And see each second

As a gift.

I wrote this as an adjunct to the previous piece. It always seems amazing to me that evolution has provided us with the brain, consciousness and senses with which to glimpse this most amazing universe. What a stroke of fabulous luck! We should celebrate every second of it.

Consciousness is a thing of wonder.

What if there were no conscious beings to witness the majesty of this cosmos? What a waste.

  1. Ha ha. I just happened to glance at this and lo and behold – having said all that maybe you’ll also have to re-think your previous statement made on another post about the Schröder’s equation that’s used to analyse discrete dynamical systems by finding a new coordinate system, in other words, so that we may witness the majesty of the cosmos. Without it, you perhaps wouldn’t be looking at quite as much.

      1. Eh, yes, but that isn’t the point because without physics and master scientists like Schröder, we wouldn’t be able to discover anything like as much as what we have! My word, let it be said that you are surely no scientist and incredibly naive.
        Because obviously the universe is so huge and if we didn’t know which direction to look and what to look for, and indeed how to look for anything in the first place, then we certainly wouldn’t be knowing what we know! It’s pretty clear cut.
        Can I suggest an introductory course on Astronomy with some Physics on the side, because you’re really struggling here, aren’t you?

      2. Ivor (if it is Ivor – which I very much doubt) I am a Biologist who has always had an amateur interest in Physics and particularly the weird stuff of quantum. I don’t need a lecture on it from you and your condescending manner thanks. Of course we need people like Schrodinger, Hawkings and Einstein to point the way. We’ve found out lots. But there is a lot more to find out and the more we do find out the more there is to find out and the weirder it gets. If anyone is struggling here it is you who it struggling to be polite.

I'd like to hear from you...
