Killed by multinational capitalism – corporations that murder.

What I believe about Multinational Capitalism

This is what I believe:

  • I believe Multinational Corporations are destroying the planet
  • I believe they hold no allegiance to any country, people or ethics.
  • They exist entirely to make profit.
  • They are unscrupulous.
  • They pay their executives exorbitant amounts.
  • They control governments and nations through bribery, lobbying and threats of taking their business elsewhere.
  • The buy votes and politicians.
  • They use an army of lawyers to avoid paying taxes, avoid compensating victims, to flout laws and to avoid criticism.
  • They are responsible for the world’s inequality.
  • They control the media.
  • They do not care about people.
  • They do not care about the environment.
  • They will circumvent any law they can to increase their profits.
  • The profit they make goes to the shareholders and executives.
  • They like instability – they had profit from it.
  • They like war – they can profit from it.
  • They like poverty – they can profit from it.
  • They use politicians and governments to protect their interests.
  • There can be no democracy while they have power to control media and government.
  • The only people who can be elected have the support of Big Business billions. Poor people cannot get elected. So all governments represent the interests of big business.
  • They will pollute, destroy and pillage in order to make more profit.
  • They will use poverty as a means of reducing operating costs.
  • They will cut corners without concern for the impact on people or the environment.
  • They have created a monster that is presently eating up resources, causing immense pollution, changing the environment, creating inequality, fundamentalism and war, and destroying the planet.
  • The profits they are making goes to the top 0.01%. 99.9% of us are not profiting from this multinational corporative take-over. Half the world is starving.
  • We have created a monster that is going to destroy us in a mad rush to make more money for the few – at all costs.
  • This is the worst tyranny humans have invented.
  • Wild-life is being mindlessly sacrificed in the name of progress, expansion and growth.
  • We do not need growth. We need fairness, equality and justice.
  • This system cannot offer that. It is evil.

  1. you are preaching to the converted here… i too believe in many of those words you’ve shared. sometimes, i am embarrassed to be human. humankind. what is that? there’s no humanity. it’s all about greed and man’s innate strive for self-destruction. i walk this planet with my eyes wide open and i strive to leave as small and unobtrusive footprints as possible. turning vegan certainly opened my eyes to many things. we have this beautiful planet and we are destroying her. cutting her to the quick. killing animals, killing our fellow man, woman and child without as much as a blink or raised heartbeat. we are oppressed by governments we didn’t vote for. democracy is a lie. the system is flawed. the world is broken. we broke it. we could face our own extinction and not care. cognitive dissonance. but we should care. we really should…

i just wrote a piece that tips its hat to this… these words you share and the sentiment behind my comment here. we can only hope love will prevail.

    one love. peace.

    1. Thank you for your input. It’s nice to know the sentiments are shared. I hate what we are doing to the world. I only hope we wake up in time. Peace and love – Opher

      1. We are so very not alone in this recognition. I finished reading Christopher Hitchens’ biography of Thomas Paine’s The Rights of Man. It is as though aristocracy has re-emerged in all its dehumanizing and violent glory. I wouldn’t want to live through any violent revolution and that is the worst of all because we still have the vote (more or less). A healthy majority can change everything and it feels like this is inevitably, happening.

      2. The problem is that they are cynical, heartless and pathological. We have a vote but we can only vote for the lesser of two evils. It is still the robber barons in different guise. The corporations buy the politicians and media.
My hope lies in the power of the internet. People can cut out the media and deal direct. News can be instantaneous. We can circumvent them.

  2. Agreed. And don’t forget to include the religious organisations which suppress the education and self-determination of women. They must be counted in the list of destructive agencies.

  3. It does seem to be the case, Naomi Klein states this too, and read a depressing item in a Sunday paper on the business pages. Who the hell merges with who these days. Old companies are being drowned by big mergers and the city of London financiers and lawyers all making their mega buck.
