The human brain has evolved to see patterns and look for reasons to enable us to be successful hunters and escape predators. That is why we like jig-saws, crosswords and Sudoku. We are hard-wired to enjoy finding patterns and seeking solutions. Hence our ability to develop science and technology.
But our brains are limited. Our evolved reasoning restricted by those same thought processes. When faced with larger scenario such as the universe, life and death we search for the same patterns and solutions that would apply in our mundane life. When there are no answers, when there is no purpose or reason, our brain cannot accept this; we invent god to fill the gap.
Because we have Sudoku there is no god.
If you doubt this why not read my book – ‘The Antitheist’s Bible’ and enjoy a novel that explores faith? –
