Vietnam – Hue – Amazing decorated arch in the Palace and Bride and groom.

Walking around in the grounds of the Royal Palace we came across this amazing arch all delicately decorated with coloured porcelain in the most delicate patterns. A young couple were having their wedding photos taken by it. I can see why. It was spectacular.

Vietnam – Hue – Around the Royal Palace – Photos

The Royal Palace had fallen into disrepair but the Vietnamese was rebuilding history as fast as they could. There were many tourists to satisfy!

I do find these places fascinating despite all that. The art and lavish decoration is fabulous.

Vietnam – Hue – The Royal City – Photos

We arrived in Hue on a grey day with drizzling rain. But we weren’t going to allow that to spoil things.

First stop was the Royal Palace.

Vietnam – more shots from Halong Bay

Quite amazing to be in Vietnam. The people were so friendly. But we were off to Hue! Another adventure.

Vietnam, Halong Bay – some of the wildlife – vultures, seabirds, crabs and mudpuppies.

I always like to see what wildlife is around. Above us were vultures circling, on the rocks there were a number of seabirds and on the shore were mudpuppies and crabs.

Vietnam – Halong Bay – inside one of the weird rocks

The weird rocks are made of limestone. A number have been eroded to form great cave networks. As with the Chinese, the Vietnamese like illuminating them with coloured lights.

It makes quite a spectacle.
