The Troll from Trondheim won’t last forever!

Never mind! Putin will probably send a few nuclear devices to warm us up!!

I went to the fish and chip shop yesterday. It was open! They weren’t on strike!

Everybody else is!

I wish this bloody government were! (Although they might as well be – they don’t seem to be doing much about anything.)

I’ve just put the heating on! It’s bloody cold in here! I’m arranging a mortgage to cover the bill!

Pretending to be real

Pretending to be real

Only existing as electricity

Pulsing in patterns,

Responding to stimuli,

Pretending to be real.

We are a flow of energy,

Bursts of ions

Flooding circuits.

A kaleidoscope

Of fabricated feelings.

Nothing more.

Sight and sound,

Touch, taste and feel,

All an illusion,

A construct,

Connected to the world

Yet not

Capturing its true essence.

Only a pale impression

Imprinted

On the cortex

Of our imagination.

Opher – 10.12.2022

The world we see is far from real.

We have five senses that respond to a limited number of energies. They send electric pulses back to our brains. Our brains receive bursts of electricity, interpret the patterns and builds pictures in our heads of the world outside.

The world is nothing more than a construct of our imagination. It is not real.

If we had more senses to see other energies we would see a different world.

If we rigged our brains up to electric patterns it would create different images.

It is not real.

We each live in a universe of our own creation. It’s electric patterns in our brain, nothing more.

Endless Ocean

Endless Ocean

An endless ocean,

                Spanning eternity,

                                Still and dreamy,

Crystalline in the darkness,

                Yet rushing,

                                Exploding

                                                In slow motion

                                                                Ever outward

At unimaginable speeds.

                Towards the inevitable,

Creating

                Unending variety

                                Of transmuting

                                                Wonders;

Encapsulating

                All the dreams and wishes;

                                The hopes and fears,

That have ever been

                Or ever will be.

For a fleeting moment

                We are swept

                                Along

                In its undulating tides

Contributing

                All we are.

We are voyagers on a ship that is a lump of rock as it dreamily speeds through an endless journey across a fathomless void.

This sea has no shores.

This ship has no destination.

This ocean has no waters.

The reality is totally at odds to the impression.

What appears serene is really an unimaginable fury.

What appears to move so slowly we cannot see it change, is speeding at a rate we cannot even imagine.

It presents us with a never-ending stream of wonders.

Sit back and enjoy the trip.

Today’s Music To Keep me IiiiNNnnsssAaaaNNnNeE in the midst of madness – The Gang Of Four – Capital (It Fails Us Now)

This feels very appropriate for the times we live in.

Journey Pt. 6 – Oz – Hamilton Island

It was devastated by a hurricane shortly after we visited.

Journey Pt. 3 – Oz and Newcastle

Unbelievably wonderful.

Have you been reading anything good recently??

Pretty recent!

What I’m reading at the moment!

I am currently reading two excellent books.

Julian Palacios – Lost in the Woods (Syd Barrett and the Pink Floyd)

Incredibly detailed, wonderfully written account of Syd’s life and music. I am loving reading this book. It must have taken an age to research. Delicious and information. Flows along. As mesmerising as the music! Buy it!!

And

Jasper Fforde – Early Riser

Jasper is the master of this type of genre; if I only knew what to call it! Bags of humour, extremes of imagination, surreal storyline, wonderful characters, futuristic, adventure. I’d say fantasy but it’s more than that. I’d compare him to Vonnegut and Terry Pratchet but he’s not really like them at all.

All I know is that he’s great to read and completely unique! Loving this book as much as I’ve loved his others!

Union Busting is not going to work!

There are two ways of dealing with this wave of strikes.

  1. To sit down with the unions and listen to their genuine grievances then negotiate to find a way forward that addresses the problems these workers face.
  2. Ignore the problems altogether. Become belligerent and nasty. Treat the low-paid people like scum. Try to bring in legislation to crush the life out of them.

This government is made up of extreme right-wing Tories. They don’t give a toss about the plebs. They want them to work more for less to increase profits for their own.

They are happy to hand out billions to their chums to stash away in the Cayman Islands but not give £3000 to a nurse so she can eat and keep her kids warm.

Raging inequality, corruption and a decade or more of cuts and austerity (while giving handouts of millions to the rich) have created a perfect storm. Things are so bad. Pay is so low. People can no longer survive!

Chuck the bastards out!!

Today’s Music to keep me SSssSSAAaaaNNNnneee in Today’s madness – Pete Seeger – Which Side Are You On?

There still are clear sides! Fairness or inequality! Will you be a lousy scab or will you be a man?

@JimmySteller

6 years agoPete Seeger was an example of the human spirit and genuine idealism enduring despite anything which could or was intended to destroy them.
