Well yesterday it was the Beatles so today it has to be the Stones!!
These were the two massive bands of the sixties!! They both were a huge part of my life. The Stones were great to see live!!
When I was fifteen I hitch-hiked around France with my mate Foss. I somehow took the first Stones album with me! It caused quite a furore on the Youth Hostel dansette where we camped in the garden.
That was a brilliant summer.
The Stones were set up as the bad boys of Rock. They were actually quite middle-class. I used to play rugby with Ian Stewart. He was a great guy. I wish I’d asked him to get my albums signed. He probably would have done it!
The Stones have produced a rich body of work. I could probably play good stuff for a week. I’ll start off with Exile on Mainstreet – real LOUD!!!
I’m a big Stones fan too. But it’s a bad sign of the times that the Stones are played to keep sane.
I don’t know Bumba – they always excite me!!
Yes. I love the Stones. But calming is not how I’d describe jumping jack flash.
Bumba – you are right – the Stones don’t calm me down; they excite! But right now in lockdown I need a bit of excitement.
I know it’s only rocknroll but I like it!
Yeah – keep rollin’ those dice!!
Yes love the Stones!!
Right on Pooj!! They Rock!!
Loud is always good. 🙂
You can’t play Rock softly can you?
Of course not! Funny story, my mother always told me I’d have a hearing problem when I got older because I listened to music so loud. I thought it was all hogwash. When I finally went to the audiologist as a 60-something year old, he did all the tests, and his first question was, “Did you listen to loud music, like Rock and Roll, when you were a teenager?” So, my mother was right after all. 🙂
I’ll put up with the mild tinnitus and hearing loss! I’m 70 now! It’s what I would expect! And I have had sixty years of loud music to enjoy!! Wouldn’t swap it for the world!!
Oh, and was it worth it, the mild hearing loss? You bet it was!
Too true!!
