Boy Meets Planet – Nick Harper

As well as being a superb guitarist Nick is also a brilliant lyricist/poet. This song is from the great Blood Songs album. It is a very clever song personifying humanity as a boy and the planet as a girl and highlighting the destruction we are reaping on it.

The nutters certainly are in control and we are chopping down the lifeblood of the ecosystems.

Boy Meets Planet – Nick Harper

We’re all crazy – the nutter’s in charge

Everywhere

Every corner – the enemies at large

Unaware

He chop-chop – skim the cream

Fill his oily hands

He don’t stop ‘til the sky is steam

Over hot Antarctic sand.

Boy meets planet – breaks planet’s heart

Boy meets planet – she falls apart

Is there a doctor – He’s had a seizure screaming murder

No remorse no regrets

He’s hungry

He says the world’s a beefburger

And the dinner bell is ringing in his head

Chop chop – live the dream

Supply will meet demand

Don’t stop ‘til the sky is steam

Over hot Antarctic sand

Boy meets planet – break’s planet’s heart

Boy meets planet – poor little planet falls apart

She’s full of memories

Him in her garden

That was before he started

Pissing everywhere

He’s got a roving eye

For Venus and Mars

Still together but not in love

A messy divorce is on the cards

Boy meets planet – breaks planet’s heart

Boy meets planet – she falls apart

      1. It is with a guy doing layout and is languishing because he isn’t well. Hopefully it will either get finished there or somewhere else. It’s even more frustrating for me.

I'd like to hear from you...
