Hugh Masekela – Brilliant African Jazz Trumpeter and Civil Rights Activist

Hugh Masakela was both a champion of African Jazz and Civil Rights – a mighty tree standing in the forest – a defiant melodic note in the cacophony that was apartheid. His outspoken stance spoke as eloquently as his glorious trumpet. We shall miss his mighty stature.

The world has lost a fine musician as well as a giant of equality.

Bring Him Back Home (Nelson Mandela)
