Saltburn and the beauty of the North – Photos.

There’s a lot to be said for living in the North of England. It is beautiful. There is not the degree of overcrowding that there is in the South. There are no traffic jams. There are empty beaches and wonderful scenery.

Here’s some photos of Saltburn on Teeside. A beautiful little coastal town. October and the sun is out. People are surfing.

The mortuary. This was a fishing village. The mortuary was there for drowned

fishermen.

On top of the Ship pub there is a statue of a fisherwoman looking out to sea, clutching a handkerchief and waiting for her husband.

The spectacular beach and cliffs.

The friendly pub.

The pier.

Beach huts and surfing.

The Cliff Lift

The Town

And out on the train past the old relics of the industrial past – now slipping into history.

      1. Yes – the north of England is a neglected place but is a thing of great beauty just waiting to be rediscovered.
