Trip to the Isle of Mull in Scotland – leaving Oban

A good mate from college hit his 70th birthday and invited us to join him on Mull along with a small group to celebrate.

We’d never been to Mull but love Scotland, so it was a good opportunity.

I like taking photos so I recorded the event:

It was a gloomy day to set out to Mull. We drove the three hundred odd miles and caught the ferry out of Oban – a nice little town situated in a bay.

Oban looked a bit dour in the gloom but it had charm.

Looking out from the harbour towards Mull.

Our first glimpse of the cloud enshrouded Isle of Mull.

  1. Lovely pictures, Opher. I was checking out Mull on a Google map and notice a place there named Calgary. We have a city called Calgary out west in Alberta. I wonder if our city was named for that one. That was a long drive from Hull!

    1. Yes, we went to Calgary. There was an outdoor sculpture park. Very nice. I don’t know if the Canadian one was related in any way. Mull was beautiful.

      1. Yeah I will! My uncle has a house there so I will probably just try to spend like a month living there and seeing everything.
