As a great supporter of Jeremy Corbyn I am dismayed by the stupidity of what is happening. It is making a mockery of Labour and doing Jeremy’s reputation no good at all.
As I have said repeatedly I like what Jeremy says and stands for but he has proved himself not to be a leader and not to be able to handle the media. His performance in the referendum was as lamentable as the football team.
No matter how brilliant you are if you have a vote of no confidence where 172 vote against you and only 40 vote for you there is no way forward. You have to do the honourable thing and step down with dignity. There are not even enough supporters to form a shadow cabinet with any credibility. There is not a hope in hell of the electorate backing Labour.
STEP DOWN JEREMY FOR THE GOOD OF THE LABOUR PARTY AND THE COUNTRY!!!!
Would you consider any possibility that he is purposely trying to clear out those he doesn’t think fit?
I’m sure he knows what he’s doing here and perhaps he has more metal than as previously indicated.
But he’s still got slippery Andy Burnham to contend with. He has plans for himself.
Where does Dianne Abbott fit in here, as I haven’t heard anything of her (unusual).
I don’t think so Rich. I know exactly what is going on. But this present situation is not helping anyone. As a Corbyn supporter, as you well know, I was dismayed by his lacklustre performance, noted the views of the wider electorate, and see that he doesn’t have the leadership skills. He’s a dead duck. The grassroots labour support is not enough to win wider support. He has such a huge lack of support in parliament that he cannot form a credible shadow cabinet let alone government. There is no way back from that.
If the party is to change it has to evolve through the local parties selecting suitable candidates who have the right credentials and abilities. They need to transform the party from the ground up – not the top down.
Right now I want an electable Labour Party to fight for a fair future. We’re a long way off that.
I wish I was as optimistic. I think it’s Theresa and I listened to her speech – ‘Brexit is Brexit. The will of the people must be respected.’ Didn’t sound good to me. I don’t think they are worried about practicalities or whether it is in our best interests, or Calais – they are rabid Tories.
I hope you are right but I know you are wrong.
Great track isn’t it. Good to hear it again.
What a fucking mess. A set of dominoes where nothing worked out for any one of them the way it was supposed to. Who could have predicted? None of them.
The only one laughing his head off is stupid fucking Farage. What an obnoxious plonker.
If you put this in a play it would be too farcical. If it wasn’t so dreadful it would be funny. I hope someone sticks the knife into gruesome, smarmy Gove!
Who would believe that I’d be preferring Smarmy Dave and the Bullingdon boys? Life is strange.
