There are arguments against true democracy:
- We do not have the means to have a simple system of voting that is free from fraud
- The people are not sufficiently informed on issues to make good decisions
- The people are not intelligent enough to vote on the important issues
I say:
- We have the technology to handle our finances. We could use that. (Better than the corruption we see with Jed buying George’s Presidency – what was it? – Hanging chad?)
- We should inform the people of what is going on
- We should educate people to a higher standard
So what stops us?

Exactly.
What’s your take on the new Mayor of London?
I think it’s great that we have a guy who is speaking sense. The fact that he is a Muslim is unimportant but sends a good message – it’s the person and what they say that is important, their religion or colour is not. Having said that, it sends a message out to others that we are a tolerant, inclusive nation. That’s great.
The Tory tactics of trying to smear him by aligning him with radical terrorist fundamentalists backfired – it’s the same smears they are trying to blacken Corbyn with. I think people see through it. Neither Khan nor Corbyn side with terrorists. Good to see London emphatically endorsing that.
Boris is obviously looking to have a go at PM. His opportunistic about face to support Brexit was so blatant. He’s put his eggs in one basket. We’ll see.
Imagine – Prime Minister Johnson meeting President Trump – that would be a contest of hairstyles!
I wouldn’t be quite so entirely happy about it as it’s going to piss off a hell of an amount of people who otherwise may be docile. He’s a brave man though as he’ll be getting got at every step. Didn’t we know Boris was wanting to become an MP? I thought that was common knowledge. I quite like Boris though, he’s got a good sense of humour and able to read between the lines. He’s as English as Brighton Rock, too, which also entertains me.
Boris isn’t the buffoon he plays up to. He is entertaining but behind it I the same Eton arrogance of Osborn and Cameron. The rich boys think they have the right. He is very astute. He’s is looking to be PM not merely MP. I hope it goes badly wrong for him. His opportunism does not deserve reward.
