Walking up into the hills gives one a great view over the valley with the river Swale gently flowing through the green fields. I bet it’s quite a torrent in winter though.
I love the greenness of the Dales with their dry-stone walls and stone buildings scattered so sparsely. It doesn’t look as if it has changed much in hundreds of years. There is peace and beauty to be felt.
Those hills don’t look very high but it was a bit of a slog at times – but well worth it!
